stupid gsk idle problems

okay I am about fed up. I installed the free gsk in my truck a few months ago and i had to leave the idle low because if I turned it up any it would just climb from 800rpm to 1200.
I was getting tired of pushing the gas to start the truck so I backed both spring retainers 3 clicks and I still have to push the gas to start it. Except now I can set the Idle to 1000rpms in neutral and as soon as I put it in gear the truck dies. What gives?

thats because the idle is supposed to drop while in gear

Ive done one GSK on an auto trans truck and i had to make good and darn sure that the truck was idling at about 1000 rpms, cause it drops to about 750 or so when u put it in drive, and the springs have to be as close to factory or as exact as possible. I do not know why the washer GSK acts taht way, but I did do a regular GSK and took a couple of tries to get it right. I had to tighten the springs two clicks to keep the truck from dying..

it idles at 1000 rpms but I still have to press the gas a little to get it to crank.

Is there a measurement I can go by that anyone has had luck with. I am going to try to tinker with it today.

The best measurement i used was between .030 and .040 that is where mine runs the best. My washers were .070 thickness also. I have my idle set to around 900 in neutral and it drops to about 750 in gear with the A/C on. But it seems like each truck is a wee bit different. I do know with the washer one you will have a touchy throttle pedal. I have never had to touch my throttle to start mine.

My truck feels slower since I adjusted it out a few clicks. It idles high in neutral and barley runs in gear. I guess I will go buy the washers from autozone and measure them and go from there.I will try .040. I may end up ditching the washers and getting the real gsk springs.

Thats what happens when it is too loose...

Tighten them up one click or two, if your GSK is properly adjusted, u will feel like the accelerator and the gsk are one in the same, IE the RPMS will climb much quicker, and the powerband wider dependin on ur 3K or 4K set...

I sure hope I will be able to start my truck without pressing the gas and it idle correctly. I am using the depth bar on a digital vernier caliper to measure the spring. I just hope I am measuring it right(from the top of the threads)
