Talking Skyjacker d25's woohoo...done it

Thanks all for the help and advice...I installed my D25's and new Bilstein hd 5100 series on Besse this past Friday nite. Installation was not bad at all. I did need to use the spring compressor to install the new springs but it took me longer to replace the rear shocks than the front shocks and new springs. I did get 2" of lift after as well. I like the ride so far, now if I can get my Nitto 285's balanced right I will be a happy camper. Discount tire so far has not done a good job of this!

best price on D25's is Summit Racing part # SJA-D25. $149 with like $8 handling and NO shipping!

Fishbait, I see you like the ride so far with the new springs. How does it compare to the stock ride?

I called all websites and distributors but got my best price from a local shop that had them drop shipped to me for $134.00 plus 10.00 shipped to the door! 4 wheel parts performance center here in Austin, web is www.4wheelparts.com, 800-341-7647.

It is hard for me to truly judge the ride difference from the factory since I have 138,000 miles on her now and the shocks have been bad for some time. I think it is definately a stiffer ride but more firm especially on turns. My wife doesn't like it because she likes a smooth ride like most 1/2 tons.

I am glad I was talked into the new springs vs. the spacers!

I also just installed some D25's and so far I love them. I will have to get longer shocks though, my truck wants to stretch it's legs on the small but plentifuls knolls but the stock length shocks act as a very harsh limiting strap.

Bilsteins

I would suggest putting Bilsteins BE5- 6681-HD on your front, they are longer and made for this application. I put them on and put BE5-6682-HD on the rear to keep the valving the same.

I got some ideas from other members of this site and went from there. I called lots and lots of folks to get a better consensus of what to use. Bilsteins seemed to lead the list!
