Quick question

Two quick questions.

1. Fuel plates are only for 12V correct?

2. I was talking with a supposed BOMBer and he suggested to me that I can the current fuel pump on my truck and go with one off a 12V anyone ever heard of this and if so what exactly was he talking about the lift pump?

Thanks for your time and all the advice.

fuel plates are only for 12valves with a p-pump, 94-98.5, they use a mechanical lift pump driven off of a cam lob. 24V have an electric lift pump and the cam does not have the lobe to drive a mechanical pump. The block may have the mounting place for one, I don't know. There is nothing interchangeable between the 12v and 24v as far as the fuel system, that I know of.

He might have meant

A P Pump conversion for your 24V, as far as I know Lift pumps are more consistent failiures on 24V engines, I dont know anything about my lift pump for my 12V..

A P pump conversion on the other hand puts a P7100 pump in ur 24V engine, thus replacing the electical VP44 pump, these are some expensive upgrades, there was a good thread on this a while back, do some archiving and ull find it..

Best of luck!

Tx

PS fuel plates are a 12V thing, similar to Edge COMP and fuelin boxes bein a 24V thing.

Are you talking about the injector pump? If so, the 24v VP44 can be swapped out for the mechanical P7100 off of 94 - 98 2nd gen Dodges.....this is not an easy task and is quite an expensive project - but it can and has been done.......it is usually done by guys looking for ultimate power - typically over 700 hp.

Here ya go....lts lots of reading on the P-pump conversion
