A Pillar Pod Mounting Issue

A few months ago I had an 3 gauge A pillar pod installed with tweeter. The guages are great, however, the pod is not secure on the pillar. It can be moved by hand back and forth away from the windshield (like it's pivoting on the pillar) maybe 1/4" The installer says this is normal, but in the cold it causes an annoying squeak and I'm sure it's not right. Before I take it apart and perhaps cause damage I can't repair, I wanted some opinions on setup. Anybody else have this issue. Also, how does the pod secure to the pillar? Could a piece have come loose internally?
This forum has been a great source of information and money-saving advice. Thanks to everyone who contributes.

I just put some velcro on the pod and stuck it together. I really didn't want to drill a holein the pillar. If you go that route make sure you get the heavy duty velcro from wal-mart in the craft section. I put some on the top and bottom and I have no problems. Plus it goes on and off really easy. Good luck
