A pillar pod in a 91

got mine in, no pics yet, but i thought I'd report in. it's not bad, I'm 6' and can see ok, but they really aren't pointing right at you. my boost is backlit, very easy to see, the EGT is reflect lit (bulb inside, reflects on middle of gauge and then hits face, like old tachs and oil psi gauges), not sure why isspro makes the EGT like that, much poorer lighting. I should have put it in the bottom hole to make the angle on it better, as the backlite boost gauge can seen well in either pod

Re:A pillar pod in a 91

I built my own 3 pod setup out of a single and a double. I used AutoMeter Phantom guages. I am 5'8'' and all are easy to see and read. Most people don't see them unless you point them out. They do give me an overview of whats going on inside my engine and driveline - which is why I have them. Enjoy!
Bob

Re:A pillar pod in a 91

Ive heard of alot of guys saying that they couldnt see the gauges in the 1st gen pods real good. Why couldnt a guy take a couple rubber shims and place them back behind the gauge (where the face of the gauge and the pod make contact)to move it to the desired angle?

Re:A pillar pod in a 91

Funny you say that Okie'... I just replaced an older style Isspro with a newer one. The glass on the new one is curved and that causes some glare, which makes it hard to see at times. The old style had flat glass and no problem.
Rubber eh.... hmmmm...

bob

Re:A pillar pod in a 91

that could work okie. I can see mine well enuf I probably won't mess with taking the pod back off the a pillar (they use '1 time' porcupine studs)
