noobinator questions
hey guys, new guy here. just bought my first CTD which is also my first viechle. i got a 94' 2500 about 4 months back(and i LOVE IT) and have been learning alot about it reading the forums. just starting to learn my way around the truck but i have a questoin about fuel plates. i know that my truck has one in it but i have no idea what style brand ect (i can leave my buddies in a black cloud on command
)? is there any way that i can find out? is it way inside my fuel system and how hard is it to get at? also, how does sliding it 'all the way back' or 'all the way foreward' make a difference??
also i have purchased a set of 48" tall 5" stacks
that i am going to put into my truck. i want to wrig the piping underneath the truck and have the stacks come up threw the bed independently. i was thinking of splitting it just behiend the cab(i have a single cab) and running the passenger side pipe over the frame and then up, and the driver side of the split, over the fuel tank and then up. only problem i could see with this is the heat that the pipe running over the fuel tank would put off. if i installed a heat shield to protect my fuel tank, would that be enough to keep my tank safe? or do i need to find another way? also if i am going to hard mount the stacks to the box, is it best to use some flexpipe somewere else in the system to keep from tweaking the pipes when the truck flexes?
sorry for asking so many questoins in my very first post.
Thanks in advance!!!!

a guy on here has a 3rd gen, i think, and hes got stacks on his bed rug. And too keep from burning it, he wraped them in some fancy doo-hicky heat sheild tape. said that it kept em cool and all the good stuff. ive got stacks, check my gallery
i wanted my stackes like you want yours, but i soon found out that i coulndnt. but good luck!

lol them flamethrowers are a rag nailed onto a stick saturated in diesel fuel. lol a joke. the guys were talkin about it in the ''other'' section and i decided to do it. Still workin on the real ones tho!
well ive got the flatbed, obvisouly
, and it was just where the braces were under the bed and the tool boxes were in the way some. so i went and bought a pecie of 4x6 peice of steel that was a 1/4 inch thick and stuck er in there on top. works good, dont haveta worry about rust or anything!
