Tow Hooks?

This may sound dumb, but can tow hooks be mounted on a 2002 3500 Dually? I can't seem to find any around here that have them and I wasn't sure if there was some problem with putting them on. I almost got stuck and had a trailer on and I was a little worried so I would like to have some on it just in case. I did manage to pull two fords(1 was '05 V-10, had a guy walk by and asked it was alright to take a photo of the pull!) out of the same mud hole at our State Fair with no problem.

Are you talking for the front or the rear?

Get a receiver hitch for the front...the tow hooks cost about the same and the hitch has other uses.

I went with the receiver hitch up front with mine. Was a little less than what dealer wanted for the tow hooks and much more useful.

Here's a good page on installing the Mopar tow hooks.

A friend of mine had one of the Dodge factory tow hooks straighten out under a load. No more hook to it, it just stuck straight out to the front. He made a heavier set after that.

Gentleman, can the front receiver be mounted on a "Sport" model of our Dodges? I checked out the JC Whitney add, but it didn't mention the Sport. I might have to do some trimming to the air dam under the bumper.

dont know for sure, but if I would think there would be a fair bit of trimming involved. You may have to buy a receiver and mock it up.

Fishcop,

My dad has a sport and had to fab one up himself because nobody made one that he could find. But he did end up using longer j-brackets as templates that came from a Go Rhino front grill guard / light bar combo. You can see a couple pics of the silver truck in my photo gallery. You can also barely see the 2" receiver in the pic that the longer (hang lower) j-hook brackets are used for.

I got the front reciever hitch and winch plate from J C Whitney for my 98 3500, It bolts right up and if you read the directions "carefully" the air dam is not cut up bad.

Fishcop,
Go to etrailer.com and fill in the blanks for what year your truck is, what make/model and what you are looking for (front hitch). You will then be shown a few options. From that page, click on the "detailed info" link. From there, you can click on an "instructions" link. That link will show you what needs cut out for the Sport bumper.

EDIT:
Click the link below to get you to the "detailed info link"
