No sound from lift pump?
This is the only time its happened but twice today the truck has sit for 20mins once and an hour once, but I turn the key and no 3-5 second prime. The only time my pump has never primed is when the truck was turned off and the key was immediatly turned back on. It started instantly just no noise. Also it was pouring rain so I couldnt listen to it after it was running. Im scared my lift pump is going. I have a brand new IP so I cant afford it to hurt my IP.

You should have a fuel press gauge in there with your other gauges, its the most important on these trucks. Next time you start your truck just bump the starter but dont start it and see if you can hear it running for 25 seconds. If nothing you can do it again and open the water in fuel drain and see if its just running out by gravity or if it will be forced out by the lift pump psi.

When it's not running LOL sorry I couldn't resist.
Seriously though, when the engine is running I can't hear my stock Carter running over the engine noise.
When I turn the key to the run position and "wait to start" I can see in my FP gauge and hear the pump prime. Unless I "bump" the starter I can't hear my LP while the engine is running.
If you don't have a FP gauge and your trying to diagnose problems by sound on a 2nd gen your just out of luck. LP's will run all day long, make noise and produce no pressure.
Good luck.
