Another fuel press. install ?

Ive been searching but cant seem to find the answer. I have a mechanical guage that Im trying to install to mount on my steering column. I hear some say use a banjo bolt for the ip and some say not too and to use the fuel filter. Which is better and why. If someone could post a good link for a full install that might help. I bought a mechanical kit from jegs. I am ordering a banjo bolt from genos garage with two replacement washers. Are these like any other gauge install where you should not use teflon tape or teflon paste. Any help would be appreciated and I know this has been beat to death.

Provided you like the idea of seeing the actual pressure going to VP and not the pre-filter pressure, I think the main difference between tapped banjo on the IP vs filter housing is a) ease of installation - better access to VP, but b) you lose the schrader valve you could otherwise use to double check or bleed the fuel system if you install the tapped banjo on the IP.
I'd say, put the gauge feed on the bottom banjo of fuel filter can. I have done it for a friend and it is not bad at all. An hour or so of total time.

These are just regular gauges. I personaly use the paste and never had a leak or a problem. When you install the new banjo bolt, make sure you install it POST FILTER. This is where the fuel line from the filter goes to the injection pump.

Good luck,

Joe

Is there already a spot in the can to screw a line into?
