New Quadzilla High HP Box For 2nd Gen's??
Little box tester here. Quad has the little guy in great condition. The big shudder problem is now down to just a light shudder that can barely be felt....mostly here it. He is sending me a updated box soon, but I'm just enjoying this little box the way that it is until it gets here. Tows better than Smarty & spools my turbo faster also egts are down 100-150 across the board. I have Smarty put away in a safe place until Marco releases some updates.
We are not really "testing" just yet. When I originally posted I just wanted someone that was very familiar with these trucks to help us finish up our Alpha testing. Obviously we have trucks but, they are mild to stock so we just wanted to make sure we are headed in the right direction. We had a couple little things to work out and we still have some tuning to do but, we are working towards a real beta test now.
When we get the beta stuff out we will have a LOT of testers.

Got done with a 200 mile round trip with the quad race box. Still have enough of a surging level on the lower levels that I could only run level 1 the whole trip. Even then level 1 had a slight shudder to it if I was below 1700rpm's. A little more fine tuning and this thing should be good to go.
Some things I've noticed driving around town with the box on 2. The down low power is very nice and smooth. Feels like smarty on 3. Smoke is very easy to control and the power is very linear. Now this is just normal driving. Put the pedal down and the power shoots up very fast. Enough to bog the motor off the line on the higher settings. I think that might be an issue for us people running really big injectors but then again my TST/Smarty will do the same but this seems to be a tad worse.

Ok, so it sounds like on timing only it is alright? It should be.
It sounds like on L2 it starts the light throttle shuddering?
Now, does it get any worse or change much on L3-L6 and how much worse?
We do fueling 2 different ways. On L2 it is still on the Bus only and has nothing to do with the wire tap. When we make a software change tomorrow I want to know if we need to only fix L2 or if we need to change them all.
Basically once we do the Bus fueling we do it on every level. So I know it will do it on every level until we change that portion. I just need to know if we also need to change the actual stretch of the pump as well?
We should be able to email you an update tomorrow and you can update it and see if that fixes it. Let me know what the best time to try and get you is.

The higher up you go on the power levels the worse it gets. Level 6 definately isn't streetable in terms of the surging. Level 6 right now feels like what level 2 used to feel like.
Level 1 also has some very light shuddering when I'm trying to cruise below 1700rpm's which is about 65mph and below. It only seems to do it when in OD though. I can tell it's the box cause when I put it on level 0 the shudder goes away. Turn the box back on one and it starts to shudder again. Like I said it only happens below 1700rpm's in OD.
Best time to reach me today is sometime after 2.

This was true with Mach 4's and is true, but no worse, with Mach 6's.

Yeah if im not going 60mph im in 3rd gear most of the time, but i dont notice it when i run my comp instead of the smarty stacked with TST in Ez mode, just tried the smarty last couple days and it's just alot more touchy than the comp in ez mode in low RPM's
This is my experience also! I can't let my rpm's get below 1800 without a light shudder trying to sustain moderate cruise speed (say 50 mph) on level ground... even with TST off and Smarty on #5. No problem at 70-75 mph!

Here is what we are going to do to start with.
First, we are going to work on the Bus fueling. Once we get it to where you can comfortably drive it on L2 then we will start working on L3-L6. Then we will go from there.
You are probably looking for a lot more stuff than you usually do because you are testing something new. This is pretty common and actually good so maybe we can solve something that no one else has solved.
Updating should be easy and we should be able to do it about as quick as we can write code, it just depends on how complicated the changes need to be.

Well it turns out that the level 1 surging was normal. I guess I was paying more attention to the truck than normal since I'm testing this box. I think the timing just aggravated it and made it seem a little worse than normal.
Got a few different programs from quad tonight and I've got one loaded up that I'm gonna try out tomorrow. It's nice having a 100 mile round trip to class and back with hills and long, straight, flat parts. Don't worry, I've been giving this box heck and working the truck hard to try and get as much info back to quad as I can so he can make the best box possible. It's just as strong as my TST/Smarty stack but not quite as refined yet but we are working on that. I'll keep yall posted on how these new softwares work out.
