Yeah, that sort of stinks, I will keep you guys updated. We have a couple more things to send to him Monday and we should have everything lined up and running smooth.

The cool thing is that all the USB updates work very well and we now have some very cool USB software to work with!!

In the background we are working on spitting beta units out. I am thinking we should get a lot of them out later in July. Probably 2-3 weeks from now is what it looks like.

I'm sure he didn"t stop testing for Quad, he just won't be posting updates to us here on DTR. Big Blue didn't stop being a diesel head, just had a falling out with DTR for some reason as I understand it. I'm sure Quad will keep us updated.

The biggest news I guess is that we are working to get a run of beta units out. I suspect it will be 2-3 weeks and we should be able to start actually testing on more than 1 truck.

Once we get that going we will be able to make more progress.

I think at this point we have determined that what we are doing works. It makes a lot of power, it fuels as fast as anything including a stacked setup. I think we also determined that we can allow more timing than needed and more fuel than can be supplied. We learned that the USB works very well and we have since even improved it from there. We have learned that this device is invaluable in testing and will be invaluable to those with these types of products. We also determined that heavily modified trucks are going to require different tuning than stock to moderately modified trucks.

So with that said, there is a lot more test than we have tested to this point. We need to get it on all types of pumps with all sorts of injector and turbo configurations, including mostly stock trucks.

There is a ton of features that some of you do not care about that others will that need testing.

This will be a wide spread test with probably 100 or more units being tested. We have lists from people that just randomly hit our site (probably some of you), lists from previous tests and we will most likely ask for even more testers based on what combos we end up with from the first couple of sources.

So, that is the only big news is that we are going to beta.

PLEASE do not ask to beta right now as I am a little overwhelmed at this point with other stuff. I will give people adequate time to be involved if the timing and modifications are right at the time!

I will keep you notified if anything new happens

So is there going to be a way to decide at what RPM range it will start defueling?

Hi, Qzilla. I do a bit of towing on a monthly basis with a total trailer weight between 7k to 12k. I really want to chip my truck so it will pull better in the hills but do not want a lot of modifications involved. Your 120 HP standard module with the Commander is extremely attractive, but can you give me an idea why I should wait for this new box, especially considering the fact that this truck won't be tricked out with all sorts of upgrades? The other option I'm considering (and I apologize for bringing another brand into the picture) is the Edge Juice w/Attitude. The main reason it would be worth paying more for is that it also measures 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, plus (more importantly) it allows a person to make corrections for different tire sizes. Will these things be available any time soon on the Commander?

Thanks!

afoulk,

Without the Commander the Race box will have a full compliment of gauges, egt, boost, transmission and FP. You will not be able to set de-fueling limits however without the Commander. You also will not be able to set or change the turbo timer control. What you will be able to do is download a file from our site that will allow de-fueling or the turbo timer to work, you just cannot adjust it or play with it unless you have the Commander.

With the Commander it has a lot of stuff. For the most part everything the Juice has with more power and better power.

Jconaway,

With the new box you will be able to run it in XZT mode, or timing only mode when needed. The current boxes are basically just fueling boxes. They work great and run hard but, this newer box is a bit more refined.

Comparing the Juice/Attitude to the current Commander is like apples to oranges. The current Commander is a stand alone gauge set. You do not have to use a module in conjunction to make it work. On the other hand the Attitude will not function at all without the Juice.

Now, on the Race box there will be a different version of the Commander that is not stand alone, more like the Juice. Or you can run the stand alone version, whatever suits your fancy. For this particular model the special Commander will have a lot more parameters and options that you will want though.

We may or may not add in 0-60 and 1/4mile times. It is not hard to do but, you cannot do it that accurately. It might be fun just to play with but, it is pretty useless other than that.

With the newer Commander and the Race box you will be able to set the tire size and show correct mph on the display.

The biggest difference is that we will run off and leave the Juice in the power delivery and power curve department. Not that the Juice does not run good but, this new box is wicked!

Quad, I'm interested in HP numbers. Are we going to see back to back dyno numbers between the TST and the alpha race box?

I think we will. Right now, Tyler is having internet difficulties and we are trying to test 2 more files to smooth out the light throttle touchiness. Once I have that fixed or livable for the time being we are going to get 1 or 2 of them to people with dynos or access to dynos and go from there.

The only feature of the Juice has that I wish my Xzillaraider had is the turbo timer. Any chance of these being a downloadable upgrade for the standard module?

Thank you, Qzilla, that was very helpful. You're right, the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile timers are just fun options that would be nice to have on occasion, not a necessity. The other thing I forgot to mention is what Mike just mentioned: is there any chance of the new Commander having the turbo cooldown option like some of your competitors offer? That was the other biggie for me.

I think thats what he ment by the "turbo timer option" when he answered the questions I had.

Qzilla, will the sending unit and harness for the FP guage be sold seperately like with the current xillerator boxes?
