Need advice
hi guys this i my first thread i know this had probaly been asked before but i have a 01 dodge, I have plans to do AFE stage 2 intake, 4 inch exhaust, edge comp, maybe bigger fuel plate and injectors. The truck has 156000 miles and no evidence of the transmission ever being rebuilt. The lp and vp44 have been replaced recently. I am selling my previous vehical so i should have about 3000 to play with. should i invest that 3000 into a new transmission and if so what is the best buy for my buck. thanks you all for any input

If you put in Comp and Injectors you will need a built Tranny there are some
good Trannys out there I chose DTT.
well i looked at the DTT website does that four grand price tag come with a triple disc converter or do you add a extra thousand. Also what else does that transmission come with

If you are interested in teh DTT call Stefan at the number on their web page. He told me that the list price includes a converter. There are sveral good tranny's out there. Give them all a call before you decide.
Your 24V truck doesn't have a fuel plate. Plates are only found on the 12V motors.
I can't remember who exactly, but somebody on here has done a DTT VB upgrade to his tranny only and it's holding some decent power. The only trouble with doing that is that you're still stuck with the high stall speed converter. They suck.

LP relocation puts the LP back near the tank. LP are good pushers, but don’t do very well sucking fuel. This wares them out.....especially with a low tank of fuel. Moving the LP back by the tank puts it closer to the fuel source....thus less pulling and more pushing. Eases the strain on the pump, and this makes them last longer.
thanks for the info, but i still have the queastion about since the trani has 155000 on it if i just but a torque converter on it and a valve body and the trani does go out would the tc and vb be ruined. If so i would much rather just save up and get the whole transmission
You wouldn't hurt the valve body if the transmission goes out,it might need a good cleaning. The torque convertor may need to be cleaned out or rebuilt.Try Georand Brothers for a transmission.Less price than the others and most are very happy with them.
