More power for 02

A friend of mine wants a little more power. He has a 2002 cummins with a automatic, and he does light towing. He doesn't want to buy gauges. I myself had a 2000 dodge and ran a BD plug in play, I had gauges and I never came close to excessive egts.
The BD is my recomendation to him but their is a lot a new stuff since I had my 2000 any recomendations. Just some modest power improvers.

Why doesn't he want gauges? An EZ/Van Aaken would be pretty safe, but why risk it? Especially with the IP problems on a 24v.

Well, if your friend is that cheap, I suggest he leave his truck stock.

Anyone who doesn't want or can't afford gauges should not be bombing a truck to any degree.

Gauges is definately money better spent than mods. He might not want to spend a couple hundred clams for some guages now but he definately won't want to cough up a $1000.00 + for a new VP if he loses the lift pump and doesn't know it.

If he doesn't want to buy a pyro then he probably wouldn't want to spend the $2,000 (minimum) on his automatic trans to keep the power reliable. Leave it stock. Eric

Well, one thing he can do is get rid of the HY and get a stock HX35, 4" exhaust and then he "MIGHT" be safe with the EZ with no gauges. OR he could go the route of Edge Juice w/ Attitude.

I agree with the gauges at least a pyro!! Is their any safe power upgrade for the auto??
I had a boost and pyro on my 2000. Are most of you running a fuel pressure gauge. It must be a week lift pump that causes VP failures.

Yes on the VP trucks it is pretty useful to put a FP guage on it to know what the FP is doing. Most of us VP guys run FP, boost, and EGT guages. Or like commented above you could do one of the boxes with a built in monitor like the Edge Juice w/ Attitude.
