More Boost for 2001

So, this may be a stupid question, but if you put a j-hook on your wastegate will you get overboost/defueling errors? Do you have to have a chip installed designed to bypass the codes?

Yes, you need a boost fooler or a box/module with boost fooling capabilities. From what I've read, I don't believe a Superchips has boost fooling.
