Also just a bit worried what color a deers eyes are in blue light LOL. So i'm going back to the stock ones to see if they are any better with the harness. That suposed white light just doesn't seem to have the range of the yellowish light. I also have the walmart running lights installed on a separate swith. Their light is more "seeable" than the superwhites ever thought of being.
The fake white ones are horrible, try a set of Silverstars, I think you will like them better.

I'm glad I found this thread. I got a set of projectors off of ebay that look just like the style LMC is selling http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/de/0021.asp and they suck. Maybe the ones LMC are selling are a different manufacturer, who knows. Anyhow my ebay models are going in the dumpster. They are impossible to get aimed correctly. You have to make a choice, either aim the lows correctly and have the highs in the tree tops or highs correct and the lows project about 10 feet and thats it.

I'm thinking of going back to stock lenses, adding the harness from LMC and the silverstar ultras. Any comments?

I would go with the reflector housings non-halo like I purchased, the link is earlier in the the thread. Good plan on the silverstars and harness.

I bought the PIAA's from Summit for $80. Same wattage, but equal to the higher wattage without the harness.
I bought Silverstar Ultras from Pep boys on sale. They were $25/set after rebate. For my other vehicles with so-so lights. They are also same bightness, in theory.
I like staying as stock as practical.

Well I just finished installing my new headlights and harness from LMC. I ended up buying the clear Euro style along with clear corners. They look great, but I'm still having some trouble with alignment. I'll have to set the truck up in the garage tomorrow and try to do it right rather than just eyeball it. But it seems like I have a lot of scatter rather than a focused beam. Maybe I've just been driving the wife's Yukon too long?

I can say I was dissapointed with the harness that LMC sells. It was so short I had to route the harness between the radiator and intercooler. It wouldn't have cost those folks in Taiwan 10 cents to add another 12" to the dang thing and give the opportunity for a nice clean install.

I'll give an update tomorrow on how the alignment works out.

These are supposed to be OEM replacements and are what the body shops are using for a good fit. He says the conversion is get the pig tail adapters like at O'Rilys and add the second bulb. He mentioned the relays and I told him about the harness now available. Same thing but less work. Says he will back them fitting and they have a warranty. $110 each side and he is checking but thinks they come with stock bulbs. I will find out tomorrow. You have to buy two more bulbs but have the back up instead of all elements going at once. They are here in town at his warehouse. Then if I want more light install the silver stars.

hook up for these?? linky?? they bolt right in w/no mods. i need lites bad. i will do the harness also but want seperate high low beam

Yep, I did that as well, maybe mine was just a screwed up harness. I definitely need another 12" to go over the top nice and clean.

I did get the lights aligned an hour ago and I'm pretty happy with the overall setup. I might tweek the lights just a hair so that they are a little more to the leftthan what the factory says you should have.

One thing I did notice is with the harness you loose the DRL's. IIRC the factory DRL's work by reducing the voltage to the high beam side of the headlight. My guess is there isn't enough voltage to swing the relay so no DRL, not that they would be DRL, they'd be full on high beams.

Just installed the LMC harness and can attest to it's shortness. Both in terms of the amount to go from one headlight across to the other but also in terms of the short ground wires. It sure would have been nice to have 3-6 more inches for each of the ground wires and another 3-6" across the radiator. I had to cut some of the yellow sleeve as well and got it to fit. Also, would have been nice to have more wire to give flexibility on where to mount the relays.

But it's working. Haven't taken the truck out to see the difference yet. I already have the original Silverstars. Have had them for almost 4 years.

And my last complaint... wish they came with a fusible link for the power side. You have to provide your own.

I plan to unplug the passenger side light and use the existing OEM plug just to compare the brightness differences sometime. Has anyone ever done this?

I see this thread is continuing. I am looking to order a harness for my truck. It seems that the LMC harness seems to be a little short. Is the summit harness the same and is it longer? Also, can anyone tell me the part number for the summit harness? I can not seem to find it on their website.

tractor

i got mine from summit , but i had to remove 1 or 2 of the tyraps and tug it a little and it sort of slid appart and got longer .
may have removed a small amount of the yellow covering also but i dont remember exactly

seemed app 6-8 in short at first but after i removed tyraps and tuged it was just right over the rad tyraped to the original wires /cables already there !

i did start it at the pas side and work to driver side .

driverside had a small stud to place ground wire with
other ground wires .
pas side i ran a 12 guage wire from bat neg poast to the harnes ground wire

you need to ground both sides for it to work properly !

i used the electrical grease on ALL connections .

i added a diode to make high and low to work together for now , but if i get some 9104 bulbs next mounth i will remove the diode as it would be too hot with 80/100 watt bulbs !
it makes a nice diff withthe reg bulbs ! do it !
