i have the piaa bulbs (9004) in my non-sport. i have factory housings & factory wiring harness. on low beam, it's a bit of a difference & on high-beam it's a night & day difference. when i hold the highs on with the lows - WOW, it's amazing.

i have not done the high/low mod yet, but i will. also, i am hoping some clear housings and the lmc harness show up under the christmas tree this year. if not, i will be ordering them both.

once i have the new items installed, i will do the high/low mod. i will take pictures of the brightness with just the harness, then the harness & housings, then the harness, housings, & high/low mod all together.

this won't happen until january some time, but i will post the pictures.

here is a link to the piaa bulbs i have:

i have the 9000 series star whites (piaa# 13904). they are 3800k, when i bought them, i did not know there were others available. i am happy with these, but when they burn out i want to try the xtreme white plus as the intense whites are not available in 9004.

The LMC Truck relay harness that I posted results of is rated at 90W. You dont want to put 90W bulbs with the OEM wiring but after upgrading the harness, 90 or 100W bulbs are acceptable.

To say your headlights or wiring is going to start on fire because someone put in high wattage bullbs is QUITE a stretch of imagination. Fuses will open before headlights start on fire.

Harness worked good Evil , had to make it longer though and added fuses on the power leads , easy to make one but for the price its worth it , now those flosser bulbs are out and I put in night hawks , the flosser on the harness and my piaa 520s were awesome if only they wouldn,t burn out every hour , I got 7 flosser 9104s left goin cheap lol

I got the flosser 9104's in my truck but never have got to try them out now I wonder if I should take them back out so I don't get stranded some place with no low beams .I would like to know what where these flosser bulbs originally intended for that they would be ok in .

They should not run any hotter thn stock, they are designed to be a direct drop in replacement. I bought these from Summit Racing I think the pn was 19614...you can get them in 9004 or 9007...I went with the 9007 which were like 55/65 but shine the equivalent of 100/110 without the heat (slightly brighter than the 9004's...both were said to apply for my application on my truck). I used them on my lowbeams after calling Summit and asking them about my options for the Sport, there are two bulbs per headlight.

I have some info to throw on the fire. I checked with a local supplier for repair shops about the light housings. He says they don't have a single bulb clear unit just the stock one. However he used to work at the Dodge dealer and says the sport 99 and up a couple of years, I forgot, two bulb housing will work. These are supposed to be OEM replacements and are what the body shops are using for a good fit. He says the conversion is get the pig tail adapters like at O'Rilys and add the second bulb. He mentioned the relays and I told him about the harness now available. Same thing but less work. Says he will back them fitting and they have a warranty. $110 each side and he is checking but thinks they come with stock bulbs. I will find out tomorrow. You have to buy two more bulbs but have the back up instead of all elements going at once. They are here in town at his warehouse. Then if I want more light install the silver stars.

I installed the LMC harness last night. It makes a huge difference. I just have the factory bulbs, but it is significantly brighter.

I do have ONE PROBLEM though. With the fog lamps on, once I go to high beam and then switch back to dims, the high beam stays on. The only way for it to go off is to turn off the fogs. Is anyone else having this problem? What the hell could be the problem?

I have the same problem too. Nobody has chimed in with a solution tho. I take it as a cheap way to get the high/low mod and use the fog switch to turn off the highs. I dunno if that is safe or not for the harness with the stock style bulbs I have now (not Flossers).

Mine is not a sport. I am thinking about just wiring up the fog lights to come on with the parking lights using relays. A little harness should take care of it.

Just got the set of Flosser bulbs that I ordered today. Now I am wondering if I should put them in or send them back. I am thinking about ordering the harness from lmc but it seems there may be an issue with the trucks with fog lights. Is this true and is there a fix? Also, has anyone took pics of the harness install or written about it?
Thanks

After much research I went with just the clear headlight modules (no parklight) from Parts train with silverstar bulbs. $207.25 delivered. They are rated "replacement" and have the rubber gasket trim gasket next to the sheet metal.
Im getting the harness to save time at LMC Truck. Their headlight unit was $200 before shipping and no bulbs.
I will post pictures of that combo of stock park and clear headlight. Im planning on amber strobes in the park so I might as well experiment on these. I got one headlight sweated over inside and both sand blasted from hurricane Katrina, got my windshield too!
My local deal was a little high with tax and adding another bulb on each side.
I thought about the sport units and putting a white strobe in the low beam socket but the DOT here prefers amber for oversize load vehicles.

I don't need my high beams now even with the silverstars. All these upgrades have made high beams unnecessary for me. So the harness issue doesn't bother me that much. YMMV
