Ksb1-2????????????????

Found one around here for a killer deal. I was wondering how much power these things can hold. I'd probably be running a 180-200hp injector in the near future and Im worried it might be too small.

It'll be on the small side for something that size. The KSB-1 is good to about 450hp but after that it starts getting pretty warm. I'm at 400hp with mine and I can only hit 1250-1300* pre turbo. That's at 40 psi.

Definitely too small for 200hp injectors. i run 130hp mach3s and I can peg the EGT anytime with the comp on or off. It will spool real quick for good drivability around town, but top end power will suffer as exhaust temps rise QUICKLY!

If it's that good a deal, you may want to jump on it. Those turbos do move a lot of air and spool quickly. Big step up from the stock HY-35 and almost as fast, with lots of fuel!
I ran one, with an external wastegate at 500 hp. It will work with careful attention to how long you stay into the throttle.
In a 1/4 mile pass, (at 475 hp) it would peg the pyro at 1550* for about 5 sec. and get 51 psi boost.... before I installed Ext WG.

It's not your best bet, so depends on the price. Will definately need to be wastegated over 400 hp.

Also, a great top turbo for future twins.

Sorry, Just read your thread again. Did not see the dash 2 the first time around.
I was talking about the KSB-1 above. The Dash 2 is too small for your needs... Period. Big Blue and Beast are correct, both having larger versions of the B-1 if that helps you see my point.

KSB-1-2 is designed for automatics only... and under 400 hp!!

Chris,
Better off just swapping turbos, no? The compressor sides are identical.
The B1-2 would be perfect for "One54ton" but KSB-1-2's were not wastegated....ever, I think.

If you get that far... I know one guy that had one over a B-2, if your looking for feedback! For some reason, I think they were not highly prized in big hp, twin setups??

Well, yeah, probably. But my brain didn't get that far

If I go with a S300 variant (either KSB1-2, or SPS62) I want Non-Wastegated. I think a external gate is better, even if it is more complicated. If you've already got all the twin piping, who cares anout some more

The HX40 is probably fine, but I feel like it could blow at any time...not what I want I think a KSB1-2 should spool better, even with the B2 slowing it down.

I just bought a "smaller" S400 with a 1.15AR wastegated housing too There will be some xperimenting going on in Ohio
