Re:Just a Tease...

This set compared to the old set dropped EGT's by about 200 degrees.
Do you have any numbers on your charge air temp?

As of know these twins have not shown what they can really do yet since I am limiting them to 60psi when they are capable of much more.
At about what RPM do they reach 60 at WOT?

dodgeman,
the line for testing these parts out starts behind my back! :P ;D

Wanna guess who is right at the front of the line for testing/abusing/using?

Re:Just a Tease...

Andrew,

I have no numbers on air temps yet but I may try later... right now I am trying to get backpressure measured. The twins will reach 60psi as low as 2000 rpm and that is when the clutch slips.

DM01,

NO!

Merrick,
Am I reading this right? Your going to try and break a set?

Horace,
I would REALLY like to know those numbers compaired to the same numbers with your old setup. I know you only had that setup for about 3-4 months though. Maybe you could throw your old set on just for testing sakes!

So by 2000RPM, they can hit 60psi huh? About what RPM does the system start to "roll" up into the boost?

Re:Just a Tease...

I have a 6 speed so I always start in 2nd... I am not able to reach full boost untill 4th gear. The RPM's simply rise too fast and I have to shift. In 4th the clutch will slip and if I am on it hard it will blow right through it... I will have backpressure and boost numbers tonight for all those interested.

Re:Just a Tease...

Horace,

How do you plan on doing your testing? 1 pressure gauge or 2? Have you measured the boost in-between the 2 turbos? ???

New Numbers!!!!

I hooked up my second DiPricol Tale Tail gauge today to do some measurements. First I took a boost pressure reading inbetween stages... I saw 25psi at 60psi of boost. I wasn't able to keep in it longer to see if it made any more since I like getting out of it at 60psi with my stock gasket. Then I hooked the gauge to the pyrometer fitting to take a backpressure reading. With boost at 60 psi (Taken at the boost port on the side of the intake "Post intercooler&quot I have 44psi of backpressure. I repeated this several times by reseting my tale tails and got the exact same number every time... 44psi of backpressure at 60psi of boost. I can't wait to take measurements again when I get the headgasket done and am able to raise boost.

Less backpressure than the HX-35 at ~40PSI!

Those are some really good numbers...

Too bad it would only show how much power a used FE clutch can put down...

Your avatar scares me.

All Joking aside..

If I had more info to give, I woud, but so far, it's just a Stack'd-n-Jack'd.

I think the last time I called you was after last years Muncie when we were convoying through D/FW and you were working.

I'll be out of town this weekend, but you want me to call you Monday ? ;D

Re:Just a Tease...

Wow, 44psi of back pressure at 60 psi is inpressive. Nice work Horace and JR.

Now just get a clutch, and some fire-rings, and dyno! ;D

Don~,
I remember Merrick making that call. That was back when you and I were friends :P
