Question Injectors again

Sorry to have to go around this bush again. I just put my Comp on about a week ago and have been impressed with the added power...trying to drive it on level 3 (sub 5). I noticed a little more ETG while in the throttle...who can help but to stick out your big right toe. I was wondering about some injectors. Yes, I have read a bunch of post on the subject and while not totally niave, I have no desire to replace my turbo etc.
This is a 1 ton truck, not a rodhot 1/2 or 3/4. I planned to use it to haul hay and tractors (up to 18K) replacing my stock 92 3/4 ton. Queston time:
Could I go 75 to 100 hp injectors? Just ordered a cooleeze elbow to help with the EGTs (I hope). Should I...perhaps leave it alone? Can I manage the EGTs? Need some advise from folks who use their trucks for working

I have the Comp with RV275 (40 hp) and it is too hot to pull almost anything. I even have to watch the EGT's on 1x1 with the wire untapped with my truck camper on.
With my 20' enclosed trailer empty it can get pretty toasty!

Thanks for the reply. So what is toasty?

I put in the gauges before I added the comp. EGT would hit 1000 on a hill (no load), yesterday I hit 1200 under same conditions. Haven't hooked to my trailer yet but was thinking about loading it up and taking a test drive so see what the EGTs do.

Also I have a Cooleeze elbow on the way....thought I might need it to help with the EGTs.

if you dont want to upgrade turbos, then you may as well forget about either the injectors or towing.

i have towed some heavy loads (more than 25k on trailer) with jammer 4's and a comp. i had the comp set on 1x1 for timing and i got HOT IN A HURRY! not possible imo

you may be able to do some rv 275's and run the comp in ez mode to tow, but no injector over 50 hp on the stock turbo. (if your going to tow)

If I knew the comp and injectors would act like they do with the heat, I would have stayed with the EZ and injectors for towing.
The injectors and Comp even on 1x1 you have to drive by the pyro. I hate that.

With the EZ and DD2s, I can hit 1450 degF pre-turbo EGT towing our 5th wheel. With the EZ alone with its boost elbow and stock injectors, EGT was 1100 degF (stock was 1300 degF). Based on the above, running in the EZ setting with some small injectors may be possible, but you may find yourself driving by the pyrometer like I do when towing.

Thanks for the reply. Copy the driving by the Pyro, afterall that is why we put it in, to watch the EGTs. Of course you can always turn off the box.

Perhaps I should have asked the question like this....Can you put in small injectors and still manage the EGTs with out changing the turbo?

If you are having trouble with egt get a scotty intake for your truck i have a juice and scotty and i never have any trouble with my egt i haven't even hit 1000. I have only had the juice for a couple of days but my turbo timer hasen't even got a chance to work yet and i have it set on 350 or 400. I haven't had it on the interstate yet or towed with it but around town and on the highway its been great. I just keep an eye on the fuel pressure.

What trans is in your truck? Auto's harder to control egt's than on the mannuals. The mannual you can pick your rpm to control egt's. With the auto's you have basically 3rd lockup to tow in (unless you have a lockup controller and valve body upgrade) without over heating you trans.

My truck is an 02 ETH/DEE (6 speed) and with my mods I don't have any egt problems towing over 4500 ft passes with my 8k 5r. As others have stated, we have to drive by the pyro...

I have the Scotty II Intake, I have a built trans, VB and TC. I have to WATCH MY EGT'S!
I have the comp, RV275's, Scotty.
If I continuously run at 1200*, my coolant temp will get too high.
It is too hot to tow anything heavy.
If you have stock injectors (or keep them), you probably won't have a problem with EGT's. Any bigger inj than stock, and you will with the Comp.

Thanks Mike. The EGTs are not really a problem right now but sounds like if I change the injectors it would become a problem, unless you change the turbo to get more air. Then next your looking a stronger clutch, then next.....

But like said before you can always turn off box, and it is a lot cheaper, just lost all that addicting power

If you change the injectors, the EGT's will be a problem. That is if you tow. If you don't (at all), you will be fine with 275's, but any bigger, and you will need a bigger turbo.
