I need some help
Ok I just did my headgasket on my truck, went with a marine gasket that was 20 thousanths thick and my head was decked 10 thousanths. While the head was off I did some porting. Nothing major, just a cleanup basically. Here is the problem , if it is even a problem. The truck sounds somewhat choppy now. At idle its also shakey also. Could I have messed something up like an injector? Or does this sound normal since I lowered the compression? It drives fine, I havn't stepped on it yet because I still need to retorque my studs.
I would guess something is wrong? what? I have no idea...
injector
dirt in pump or injector
head gasket (leak)
valve adjustment
did you re time it?
BTW, which studs did you use, and do the valve covers hit them? Some people have to grind down the stud to get the cover to seat, then someone said that summit or jegs had the 12/24 v part numbers reversed.

I got the arp studs. They did have the part numbers reversed and I did end up ordering the wrong studs. Summit got my my 12v ones real quick. The pt number is fixed now. I didnt retime it. I did set the valve lash (hot). I did have to grind down my valve covers but it was real easy. How can I clean the injectors if I did get dirt in them? If I have a leak I am going to shoot myself
is it possible you got a valve too tight, on the lash? just a stretch but the slightest bit can cause enough comp. loss to cause idle problems. or perhaps something ended up in one of your injector lines? try going one by one and bleeding the injectors, you might be able to decide which cyl or cyls are giving you the trouble.....good luck,

How do I bleed the injectors? I know how to do lines but injectors? It idles just a little ruff, barely noticeable, but when I am accelerating it sound choppy also. It sounds like a gasser kind of with the timing way off but like I said it feels smooth.
If the truck has run for a couple of minutes the injectors have already been automatically "bled"; unless you have one that's stopped up, and then you have bigger problems anyway.

MnTom, my friend has one, great advice. Well I may have found the problem. I was cleaning off the engine and I started it up. Anyways I was looking at the injectors and I noticed number 3 was bubbling from the base. I checked the otherones and number 1 was doing it too. I was thinking maybe the injector washers are bad. I am going to go pull them and replace them. Luckily I have a bunch. I hope this works
