How much power with stock turbo??

So at what level is the stock HX-35 unable to keep up? What box and injectors is the line for the stock turbo and still be able to drive it, not just a 30 second run? I'm thinking of stacking a PM3 on my EZ or going to a Comp box to get a little more power but if it's power I can't use without upgrading my turbo I'll just wait and do it all at once.

I think you will need a new clutch first. I could slip mine with the comp on 5x5. So if you keep the 275's and the comp you will need a new clutch. I think that would be about the limit of the stock turbo. I get around 36 psi of boost which is a little out the the turbos range, and I can get the exhaust temps to 1500 on a hard run. This is all with just a comp, bhaf, and straight piped exhaust.

Yeah, a clutch and 4" exhaust would go in first. Just wondering about the turbo side of things. Wonder how much of a difference a Scotty would make at this point?

I'm running a comp, rv275's and a scotty II .........empty I on a full throttle run I can reach 1300 for a couple seconds then I hit 2700 rpm and it starts to defuel and the egts drop back to about 900 degrees till the truck tops out

I also put in the wildcat big fuel kit (larger lines) to keep my fuel pressure ok on a full throttle run

With the stock 12cm housing you may be limited to about 350 Hp. The 275's and the Ez are usually good for around 300 and change.

After the clutch and exhaust, I would think the turbo wouldn't be far behind. Once you get over the 35psi mark you are stepping outside the map of the turbo (from what I have read) and your drive pressures (as well as EGT) will go up exponentially with boost after that.

I think boost and EGT will tell you when she's done.

I would say I am pretty close to the limit with my DD2s and EZ. I can hit 1400 WOT empty, but that's also at 6K'+ elevation.

I would think a Comp and some EDM 1.5s would be about perfect. Just wait until you get a turbo to crank up the comp.

You'll be really happy with the EDM injectors from Don M.

a friend of mine put down 432 rwhp at the last dyno day with a stock hx35[yes the 12cm ex housing was still on] but it does get warm. only good for drag racing, still tows fine but you have to be smart about it. and back out when it starts getting too hot.

Like said above anything about 30-35 psi the turbo is fine but anything above tht the turbo is just forcing hot air.

With a comp box and stock turbo, I think you will be driving on a medium to low setting to keep from over heating or over boosting...but so what; find the highest setting you can use and stay there till you can upgrade turbo. You'll answer your own question and won't have to "wait and do it all at once".

I think you will like stacking the EZ with the comp. I found that adding the EZ actually lowered my EGTs as compared to just the TST PM3.

Whoops, just re-read your post and I saw that you allready have the EZ and are thinking about adding the comp. ... Yes that will bring the EGT's up quite a bit, but I have a TST PM3, 275's and the EZ with a 4" wide open exhaust. I never have EGT problems. I can make the clutch slip if I want to though. But thats why they call it DRIVING....

GO FOR IT !!!
