How much power is the stock 03-04 turbo good for?
Hi 3rd gen guys,
I picked up a stock 04 HE341 turbo for a decent price and was going to use it on my first gen. I was just wondering how much power it can make and still be efficient. I read they are good to about 30 psi before they start getting hot?
My goal is pretty mild. I want to end up with 300-350 useable (meaning I can still tow if I want) whp when I am done with my truck.
Will the HE341 work for me?
Thanks.

With just an EZ(set on #3) on my 03 when it was brand new, with the stock boost elbow, I dynoed 347hp/667tq. (this was at Shelly's in Spokane, 900 mi. on the odo)
When I finally got around to putting gauges on, same set up, boost was about 30lbs, egt's 1300+, pulling my 5th wheel toyhauler. This would be on a hard pull on the interstate.
I would say that's fairly close to being maxed out.
