how to get rid of valve noise in my boost gauge?

it has been making noise since it was first installed and i'm finally getting tired of the "whiring" sound as i accelerate. i've been told before that this is not too un-common to get lifter/valve noise fluttering up through the boost gauge tube. anyone have a quick fix?

You could try installing an oriface. There are various ways to do this. One way is to temporarily remove one of the brass pipe fittings near the engine. This fitting at a guess will have a 3/16 ID. Plug the hole with an aluminium rivet, solder or whatever. Then drill a really small hole thru that plug. You may have to experiment, but by small I mean less than 1/16". Probably into the small numbers such as a #60 drill.
Another way is to install an adjustable valve. Close the valve and then open it in small increments until the boost gauge just starts to work. Lock it in that position.
Let us know if this works
Cut the small boost plastis hose and get some small rubber hose to fill the gap. I hear it is supposed to stop the vibs from climbing the plastic tube and into the gauge.

Did you use the Plug in the block for your boost pickup?
If so I've heard/read that is a common complaint.
I tapped the intake horn, no noise yet.

I also used the intake horn. No noise...at least, none that I can hear over the engine and the wind.

i may try the rubber hose trick first, but yeah i used the plug in the intake/block. i'll try theintake horn though if that doesnt work. it isn't real annoying, but after a long drive it can be a little bothersome. thanks all for the advice!!

I'm pluged into the block also and I dont get any noise. Maybe it has something to do with how the tube is routed? I also read that taping into the air horn doesnt give a true reading. Dont really know.
