how do you run power to all 3 gauges?

First of all i'm electrically challenged! I;m fixing to put my 3 gauges on the pillar and i know i'm supposed to tap into the light dimmer switch, i think i can handle that but after i tap into that then what? splice the wire to all 3 gauges or will they run like in a sequence if you hook them all together or what? any pics would help if ya got one laying around!!
Thanks
Callum

And also say if i'm wanting to run 2 sensors and a "DPDT" switch and say pre and post egt on the same gauge how do i go about wiring the switch up? someone on here a while back said it was cheap and easy but didn't say how to do it,, i may also want to do that on my trans temp and FP??

Put all the pos together and run one wire to the fuse box, I think it's fuse number 5. The negitive wires go to a good ground.

There is most likely a better way to do it, but that's how I did my gauges.

does that allow the dimmer to work for the new gauges?

Capt. Ron, Yes, it will dim the lights on the gauges. I'm not sure about your year truck though. The number 5 fuse position might not work for you, but you could put a tester on it and check.

I wired all of my gauges to the dimmer switch wire in the headlight switch. They work very well. My IssPRO Pyro had a pretty funky looking signal driver box for the thermocouple signal. I am not sure how well it could be adapted to a switched 2 t-cop setup, but I'm sure someone could figure out a way! As to the others: I know two personally who ran extra temperature sensors to various points and can run the different temps. through one guage. The key is to get the proper sending units and put them in fluids that are comparable to the range of the gauge used to measure them. You don't want to measure something that is 400 deg. with a 280 deg. gauge.

Painless wiring external fuse box is the way to go. Be careful taping at the factory fuse box, it will work but if you are electric challenged, you may do more harm than good. The painless wiring fuse box is fused from the battery and has 8 circuits to tie in to for accessories, including gauges. That is how I did mine and it works perfect.

I want to do the fuse block also, since I can't get at the fuse panel inside to save my life!! How is everyone getting access to it?? Do you have to pretty much tear the dash apart?

Zulusafari, It's located on the left side of the dashboard facing the door panel. You can see it unless the driver side door is open. Little access panel pops right off.

Callum. I have a buddy who has the two pyros on his truck and switches between the two with one switch. I'll send the thread to him and see if he can get you squared away.

Callum, I don't claim to be an expert (just ask Mike), but I ran my 2 thermocouple(sp?) wires to a double pole, double throw switch in the pillar. If I had it all to do over again, I wouldn't have put the switch there, but it works fine. If you need it, I'd be glad to help. Mike and I have been talking about doing another "tech day". If you want, we could all get together (and hopefully others) and knock the job out. Let me know what I can do to help.
