Well got the gages installed and now just curious what I should be seeing.
Fuel pressure reads about 12 to 14 at idle and will drop to 9 or 10 under full throttle.
Boost will go as high as around 20 and at that point the tack is at about 3100.
The Pyrometer is about 300 at idle and it can get up in the yellow under full acceleration.
Doesn't look to be too much difference if the box is set up for the performance level.
What do you guys get from your gauges?
By the way any instructions that say it should take 2 hours to install these are nuts.

Fuel pressures seem normal with a stock LiftPump. Are those numbers using the XZT+ on level 3?

20 PSI boost is about where the stock adjusted wastegate opens; in other words, it normal. But the stock turbo with the XZT+ is able to make 30 PSI boost with an adjustible boost elbow or "J" hook.

Using just the XZT+ in level three (with RV275's) I've always seen at the highest 1100 to 1200 degee's on a hard pull; depending on if towing or not.

What do I get from my gauges? Peace of mind while towing heavy loads into the mountains or desert's here in SoCal. Also diagnostic evidence when I feel a loss of power or see hotter than normal numbers or etc., etc.

The readings are with the XZT+ off but I did have it on for awhile and did not see a real lot of change. Just didn't remember that much of a change. One thing is that the gauges tend to be distracting till you get use to them.
Going to pull the train this weekend headed East. I will see what I get pulling the hills.

do yo have a boost elbow installed? the stock wastegate setting will open between 20-21 lbs. the XZT+ will electronically allow higher boost (no overboost code) and a boost elbow will mechanically allow higher boost by opening the wastegate at a higher boost level.

Nope no boost elbow yet. That and the cold air intake are next on my list. last will be the 4" exhaust.
Any recommendations on the filter or elbow? Kind of looking at AFE stage 2 pro guard

Intake and exhaust first... Your cummins will thank you.
The AFE is a good system. Run a pre-filter with it as well.

I agree, exhaust should be number 1 on everybody's to do list. The Cummins just plain runs cooler and better when it can breath.

I'm running an AFE and I have no complaints. As for the boost elbow, any one will work. I got my "no name" elbow off of EBay.

Just got back from a 700 mile round trip towing the 5er and boat. Using the XZT+ on the mileage setting I saw on the flats 11 psi fuel pressure about 11 lbs of boost and 900 on the pyrometer. I switched to the towing setting adding what is claimed to be 65 hp and 200 lbs of torque and saw the fuel pressure go to about 9 psi, the boost go up to about 14 and the temp went down about 100 to between 800 and 850?? strange. I was able to pull the hills easy in OD with the temp going up to 1200 (top of the yellow area) fuel pressure stayed the same and boost went to 21 or 22 psi. Not sure if that is good or bad. Anybody have reading from their gauges upder load with a chip and stock?

What your seeing sounds normal. Lower temps with more boost is cause your bringing in more air allowing a better air fuel mixture which keeps temps lower. 1350* is the point you dont want to cross unless your modded for it. Trust me you arent there yet so just keep an eye on staying under that temp.
21-22 lbs of boost is fine as well, Just let your turbo cool down good and long before shut off. Prob a good 5 minutes or so. As for around town, Let your egt's drop to 400ish before shut off. Better on turbos that way. With fuel press, you dont want to drop below 8 or you can damage your injection pump and that'll cost ya, so your good with fuel press too. I like my AFE stage II and I would recommend 4 or 5'' exhaust to go with it.
Hope this helps.
