Smile Getting gauges ... finally

Well, I managed to avoid buying any guns for a couple of months and my truck budget has recovered from the dead starter, so I can afford gauges now. I ordered Z- series AutoMeters from the DTR store, I think they'll look best with the Dodge cluster. What sort of paint do people use to paint the pillar pods? I'd like to paint the pod gray to match the interior. It's time to start saving for POD's. Only problem is S&W is making the Trail Boss again. At least I'll be able to tweak the pump while I'm waiting for my bank account to recover.

You can buy a spray bomb from the dealer that will match exactly. They can get the color code from your VIN. Cost is about 5 bucks.

Dave:

I got my paint (vinal dye) at Auto Zone. The gray matched the other A-Pilar perfectly. Used a plastic primer on the black plastic first - also available at Auto Zone.

When I got my triple gauge A-pillar, I was convinced that I was going to match it to the grey interior of my 01. After going to numerous paint stores, Home Depot, Lowes, I finally decided to stick with a jet black plasic paint from Wally World because I couldn't find the exact grey color to match the interior. I refused to go to the dealer to buy the paint (price and I can't stand my local dealer). After all is said and done, I am extremly happy with the jet black from Wal-Mart. Looks great and looks almost natural. I have had numerous complimants on my paint job. Just make sure to sand it down with a wet/dry 800 grain piece of sandpaper. It will make your life alot easier and make the paint look its best.

Thanks for the suggestions on the paint, guys. I'm not concerned with a perfect match, I just don't want it to stick out too bad. Think I'll try the gray vinyl paint.

They showed up yesterday in good condition. In and working now. I got too antsy and installed them without painting the pod, it looks OK I guess.
