Fuel plate questions

Tried to search on "#12 plate" or "#11 plate" but it drops the pound sign and 2 characters is too short for a search term..

My question is this: I want to mildly boost the performance of my 96 auto, but the TST chart has "NR" for the Nrs 12, 11 and 10 plates for my application. How come?

What would happen if I used a #12 or a #11 plate in my truck? I really don't need 600+ ft lbs of torque right now. I'm looking for more like 200hp/500 ft/lb right now. When (if) I ever get the tranny built out, I'll consider more, but for now don't want to destroy the tranny that I have..

You can run a #10 plate with a stock auto.

Just leave it slid all the way back.

I just put one in a customers truck along with a 3k gov. spring kit.
Set the timing up and the boost and it runs real well.

Then after you bomb the tranny all you have to do is adjust what you already have.

The hard part is having the will power to wait untill the tranny is bombed.

Eddie, what do you suggest for the same truck with a full up G Bros tranny? I would like real strong I.e. an import eater that can still tow a 30 ft TT when required.
Thank

The same setup will work great.
Just adjust the plate forward and hold on.

Do you have stock injs.?
If so you could upgrade to 215's or 370's
The 370's will be smoking and have high EGT's.
Have you timed your truck ?
If not set your timing up [ I'm sure it will need it ] some
You could upgrade you charger also.
The combos. are endless. It all depends on how deep your pocket is.

Just remember GAUGES FIRST !!
When you play with HP you MUST be aware of what your engine is doing.

That is all good advice. Thanks. Can not decide on the 215s or 370s. Looks like it is about a 50 - 50 split as far as 215s or 370s based on all the posts I have read. I do plan on leaving the turbo alone based on the $ factor for that bomb. Glad you enjoyed this area. It can be a great area to have a good time.

Duff: Let me give you a little push. Get the 370s. You can control the heat with your foot. Better to have too much than not enough. But if you cant control the go pedal then go smaller. If you get the 215s you will always wonder what the 370s would have been like.

What kind of power difference will there be running a #10 plate all back vs. All forward?

All the way back is about all a stock tranny will handle.

After the tranny is bombed just slid it forward and you have a new toy without buying more parts.

With gov springs it will run really great with it back , just better when you slid it up.
