fuel plate and boost
I put gauges in my truck then slid the stock fuel plate full forward which raised the power and smoke
However, I have checked all of my boost clamps, hoses, lines, the gauge, intercooler, unplugged the wastegate, star wheel all of the way up and stuck there
then ground the slots on the fuel plate so it will go further forward (helped a little) and I can't get over 20 psi of boost or get the egts over 1100. I have heard you can also grind the nub off of the vertical leg of the fuel plate but I was told that this would mess up the idle, true or not? Now, I am up at 6000 ft altitude so is 20 adequate boost or should it be higher? Now, which way is best to grind the fuel plate and if I go any further will I need to change or adjust anything and if so what? Also the truck has 80000 on the overhead and 180000 total so should I set the valves and strait pipe it or not. And finally every shop in town has told me that there is no possible way for the injector pump timing to be off unless someone has messed with it so should I have the pump timed or not worry about it?
1994 4x4 std cab w/5spd w/full forward plate, starwheel cranked and stuck there, un plugged wastegate, pyro and boost gauge, ground fuel plate to go further forward, full forward afc housing, low boost, low egts, and lots and lots of black smoke!!!!!

never heard of grinding the slots, do a search on #100 plate or just grind all of the curves off of it. if blocking your waste gate didn't add boost try some 370 injectors. why are you trying to get your egt's up everyone else is trying to get them down. timing does slip have it taken to a shop and have the valves lashed and the timing set at 16-17 degrees it. straight pipe sounds awsome
