First impressions - Goerend Trans

Fluid coupling is tight. All the low end "mush" is gone. WOT shifts are pretty smooth, light throttle shifts are firm and positive. Feels like I picked up another 30-40 HP. Still fine tuning the TPS and kick down cable. So far I'm thrilled with it.

Dave's customer service is great. His instructions were right on the money and every question comes with a lesson in trans operation. He offered his home number in case I had question during the installation. He even called today to make sure I filled the T-case.

Love the trans and can't say enough about the customer service.

Glad that it is doing what you expect. Sounds like something that i should check into a little more closely since finances are a little tighter from not working for 3 months.

Does the tranny shift a lot better overall? Does it shift a lot faster when you stomp it? Did you get a new torque converter too? Any ideas what it would cost for a torque converter, and valve body. Thanks

Shifts better all the way around. Light throttle shifts are firm, bordering on hard. Dave told me how to soften them up if I like. WOT shifts are pretty darn smooth.

I have no idea what Dave wants for a TC and VB. Call him and ask him, he's great to deal with. If he doesn't think a TC and VB is a good idea, he'll tell you why. He'll also tell you it's a good idea if he thinks it'll work for you. He talked me out of billet shafts cause he said I didn't need them at my anticipated HP level.

i talked with dave for about 45 minutes the other day(when you call him,get ready to talk a while)hes a great guy thats willing to share alot of knowledge.his location was just to much of an obstacle for me,he even suggested going with another company that is closer to me and told me they had a really good product and were a good bunch of folks to deal with.now you tell me if you dont think hes a good guy.ive spoken to all the big transmission shops and he struck me as being the most helpful one in trying to do what would be best for me. if he was located closer,i would go with his shop in a minute.

Don't let the distance stop ya. I picked my trans up at the local shipper's terminal and put it in myself. Dave even offered his home number so I could call with questions. He even called me a few days later to make sure I'd filled the tranfer case and adjusted all the linkages and cables.

Even if I took the new trans down to a shop to have them R&R it, I'd still save a few hundred bucks.

Can't say enough about Dave's customer service. I'll put forth the extra effort to do business with a man like that, not to mention I saved enough to get a new turbo.....

Been driving the trans about 3 weeks now. Shifts are smoothing out under light throttle, still really smooth at WOT. Had to turn the fuel up a little more just to make sure. Shifts are firm, not hard. Need to adjust the idle to compensate for the tighter fluid coupling.

The pain of spending that much money has been replaced by a silly grin when I mash the throttle....

Dave seems like a great guy to deal with, yes I run DTT but I like what I hear from his corner.
