As for the 3rd gen. here's what i think

Power - Good for a stock truck --- but it does not pull as good as my '01 bombed of course. On the flats it does great, on the hills it needs another 150 lb/ft of torque

Ride - The ride is great. The new front end does a good job on the bumps and such.

Interior - I am happy with the inter. but what is it with all the cubby holes by the gear shifter. Wasted space. As far as the trash hook - give me a break.

Tranny - tranny shifts good and the truck can hold speed inlower gears while pulling hills and such. But what is it whith the rotating gear pattern on the end of the ****. Mine is already sideways.

Fit and finish - Truck seems to be good in this department. No air noise, no leaks ( ran thru a gully washer in Beeville TX yesterday moring)

Fuel Milage - Mine really stinks. I know I need a break in period but 8.5 pulling a trailer is nothing to brag about.

Ive had her 5 days and I got 1,800 miles on her. If the fuel milege gets better I will be completely satisfied. But then again what would I go to - a Ferd.

my .02

WOW,I didn't know you got a new one,the old one was sure a good one.
I feel the same way,my mileage stinks so far,and I got the 555.
Honestly I wish Id kept the 2000.

Why did you sell the 01? That was a great truck. I know you had some problems with it towards the end but that's to be expected on a truck with 430k+ miles in 3 years. So when's the bombing gonna start on this one?
