EGT'S out of control

my egts are way to high and climb quick running 30 to 34 LBS of boost and temps keep climbing it has been getting worse for a wile first it would only hit 1300* max and it would take about 3/8 of a mile to get that hot now it hits 1300* in a 1/8 of a mile and the temps keep climbing. it blows smoke at wot launches but clears up right away and clues all numbers are with comp on 3x3.with the comp off it will still hit 1000* on flat ground running empty
thanks in advance Rick

I see you are running the hypertech and the comp. Those both do some timing changes. This would raise your EGTs. I would reccomend getting rid of the hypertech programmer.

Rick, Timing is probable your problem...as mentioned above. But at 34 psi boost you are also working your small HY-35 too it's upper limit...and maybe beyond. If you can limit it to 30 psi...Egt's would be lower, IMO.
Stock Auto turbo and an Edge Comp is a hot set up! Will be worse, now that the weather is warmer!

removing the hypertech was the first thing I did and it didn't help and as far as keeping The boost @ 30 that is were it stays most of the time it only spikes to 34 psi at first then comes down to 30psi does any one think 1000* flat ground no comp and no hypertech is a little hot.. is it worth picking up a used hx 35 or just suck it up and go get a real turbo.

Not sure, but depends. Assume that is not cruise?
Better measure would be cruise at 70 mph...level. EGT's stock should be around 700-750*, if I remember correctly (might be a little higher with 4:10 rear end). Let's say it should be 700* range at 1800 rpm, cruise/level ground. Mine runs about 800*
I do clearly remember last time I could not get over 1200*. Had an EZ and DD3 injectors...probably net of 330 hp. At WOT, with the HY-35 turbo, I could just get to 1150*.

HX-35, or a hybrid 35/40 would make big difference...but I would identify if you have a problem first!

Hope this helps?

RJ

It's your turbo. It's just to small. An hx35 would be perfect if you don't plan on going with anymore power.

I would enable the wastegate if I were you,I had a similar problem when I turnbuckled mine on my hy.I took the buckle off and resumed to 22 psi and truck runs great with comp on 5x5 I never go past 1000.I had less power with running 35-40 than I had running 22,the hy is crap. Also as the other guys said you have too much injection timing I would say.Ditch the hypertech. If you want a downloader in addition to the comp save for a smarty and run it on even settings and keep the comp.I would also check for boost leaks but considering you have a guage those are unlikely.Your air filter or tube dirty or clogged?it could be that simple as well
