Educate me on injector pump adjustments?

Im trying to dial in my IP for these injectors and turbo and Im having a bear of a time getting it right. Seems like if I fiddle with the AFC or smoke screw I just get hard starts and lots of lag. Wide open I get lots of smoke.
I know about tuning carbs, so I get the idea of certain parts controlling fueling at different RPM.
Is there anything in the pump that allows an idle fuel adjustment? Or is that a function of the injector size? The hard starts would say it has some effect, but my injectors are still really stinky at idle.
What do the governor spring adjustments do?

on a P pump you have a base idle adjustment, gov spring adjustment, plate adjustment, gov arm adjustment, AFC fine, med, coarse adjustments........

if you can rest your toe on the go pedal and the truck starts better you could adjust the base idle screw a bit, or check the Gov spring adjustment

Ive had it where I turned the base idle up and the truck would idle high when warm then adjust the gov spring in one click then back off the base idle screw

just my seat of the pants knowledge.... im no roket engineer......

Argh Im getting desperate.. anyone that can enlighten me on what the adjustments do? What they do under load and at different rpm's.
Im either smoking or lagging theres just no in between.
Looks like pre-boost there is the spring force, the diaphragm set screw, the star wheel and the AFC position on the pump. Also curious about the plate and how that interacts with the governor arm.
I smoked out some poor guy in a UPS truck the other day and I wasnt even trying. Ugh.. I want to get this reasonably dialed in before the EPA comes knocking.

Smoke right off the line - adjust the zero boost screw out. Also may need a few more clicks of pressure on the starwheel.

Smoke between gears or while cruising - starwheel, up the pressure again.

With your turbo and fueling, you may need the heavier AFC spring in the kit. The AFC arm controls your fueling 80% of the time until you have over powered the spring and the arm is out of the way. Depending on the setting this can be 30 psi or 50 psi.

the starwheel controls low boost fueling, idle fueling is your injectors, and moderate to wot is your fuel plate, and delivery valves, so the 191's are probably causing the unwanted smoke, personally i think you should have just done 181's and that would have been plenty of fuel, not nearly as smokey.
the governor springs just control how far in rpm range you have full fuel, and the adjustment tightening or loosing the springs determines how responsive, or sensitive the throttle is, i have piers 4k springs in my truck and i set mine 5 clicks tight, its super touchy which is what i wanted.
