edge comp with tapped pump

I have been running my edge comp without the pump tapped and I just barely tapped the pump about two weeks ago, and now when I turn to level 5 and get on it I can push about 38 to 39 pounds of boost. Is that much boost too much for a stock turbo.

There are many opinions on this one. Basically anything above 30-35 psi is just hot air, not very good. I have my waste gate set at 28-30 psi.

depending on which turbo you have

40 psi is way too much for a HY35,(hy found on 01-02 automatic trucks) identified by a hard metal line to the actuator.

at the higher psi the turbo is out side its efficency range and the exhaust drive pressure is higher than the boost its making, this helps drive
exhaust temps out of control easily. andthe turbo would be overspinning to achieve the higher boost numbers.
all that being said some people still push them way past accepted safe limits

fill out your sig so we can help better, (depending on your mods, you may be overfuelling you turbo)
