They very well MIGHT, for the ones ALREADY there for attention, and as far as *I* know, version 7 *IS* the latest version - but Edge seems to be having enough production problems delivering their NEW stuff and occasional returns - and likely don't want the distraction of a bunch of older stuff owners want upgraded. Sometimes the "upgrade" CAN be related to actually swapping out components on a board - and that CAN be as labor-intensive as actually manufacturing a complete NEW board, but FAR less profitable...

It took an extra week to get my replacement, because Edge was temporarily out of circuit boards, and the Comps were on backorder - so mine should be an absolutely FRESH one off the assembly line... ;D ;D

I can't imagine Edge would do it without talking to me first - but wonder if, since they were having backorder problems on the "standard" Comps, they MIGHT have simply substituted the guts of a Drag Comp to take care of me faster...

SUPPOSEDLY no actual difference between the 2, other than removal of the defueling at higher RPM the Drag Comp provides - but I got conflicting reports on that from the guys at Edge - one said there were differences across the RPM range, another said the defueling was the only change, and THAT only above 2700 RPM when set to 5x5... I would have absolutely NO problems taking a Drag Comp to replace the standard one, but wouldn't spend the $$$ for the change - dunno how easy it would be to check - never had my truck above 2700 RPM or so, so no frame of reference!

Well, it's probably the standard defueling already built into the Cummins electronics, but they seem to sorta peter out of steam up around 2700 RPM - so no real point in fooling around up there - guess that's why the "raw power" enthusiasts, sled pullers and drag racers go for the Drag Comp...

And your airbrush stuff is STILL scary!

Sure would like to see a Ford PS clenched in that thing's mouth! ;D ;D ;D

EXCELLENT point - and bricks thru the windows aren't much fun either... I used to have a wooden plaque mounted on the back of our trailer to be read by other guys I passed in the hills that read "Cummins rules - Fords suck" - but eventually cut off the Ford part - I'm getting too old for wrestling matches at rest stops and in campgrounds... ;D ;D
