Which golf cart? I hear the gas ones are better. The electric ones have limited range and low power. EZGO is the better brand, twin cylinder engines versus the single cylinder like the yamaha golf carts.

both computer controlled engines. both just plug and play. both have huge aftermarket injectors. the 07 has much better injector pump. and you can put dual cp3's on it. 01 you can p pump. just take your pick

the p pump is the machanical ip that is found on the 12v's. They put out lots of fuel.

I would say the 07 runs strong already. I would leave it alone. The 01 check into quad adrenaline or edge juice with attitude. Some bigger injectors, Nice turbo, clutch or tranny, etc.. That will wake the truck up alot.

To "bomb really good"? It depends on what you mean by really good. If you go the route of a lot of 24v people, spend 10k maxing out a vp44 at <700hp then spend 5k or so again to change over to a p pump to make real power and rpms. Or spend half that and have more/streetable power with the commonrail. It's sad how easily those trucks can make big power.

Ditto. I'm contemplating going common rail because with the money I spent a common rail makes stock, and the trans is built to hold it better to begin with.

07 will gain you much more for less than the VP truck will. You will need injectors and turbo and a box on the VP just to equal what a programmer does on the CR. Only real downside to the CR (besides all the electronics and the sound) is the lack of RPM, but the VP isn't any better in that department either.
