defueling? around 55 in d need more ummph
ok, i've been reading on a lot of things in here and there is lots of great info. i'm having a couple problems which might not be problems since this is my first ctd. not sure how to update sig so i will give a rundown. 95 2500 4x4 auto stock. i just ordered a-pillar set from dieselmanor and will get them next week. i pulled 8500 lbs the other day and it seemed to not know what gear to be in when i went up a big hill 2nd-3rd at about 35-40mph. then i filled the back with firewood and was in od at around 50-55 and the converter seemed to not want to lock up, so my solution was flip the switch i installed. i've read the tps is common so i ordered one up. i also was wondering if i turned the starwheel up would it get more power throughout the driving range or just on bottom end. seems like i need a little more but not too much with the stock trans. would it kill it if i moved the stock fuel plate forward? or just the afc housing? looking to get a little more, not crazy but only after guages. anybody got any recommendations. i think i'll put in a 3k at the same time.
Hey 513 welcom aboard! I have the same exact truck as you and I love it! I can also tell you that when I first bought it I could not believe just what a slug it was stock! There are some things that you should check before you start trying to build power though. Once you get these thing squared away it's Bombs Away! Thats is if you are into making the truck into a real truck? I would square away the trans by replacing the tpsn and while your at it change the fluid and filter and adjust the bands. After thats done you need to take a good look at your fuel lines,if the truck is anywhere near the Northeast or where there is winter weather you will need to upgrade these because chances are they are either rotted or just about rotted. Once thats done Do what I did get a !0 plate and a set of 3k gov springs and all of a sudden you will have a new truck! At least it will feel new!

Oh then you can crank the star wheel for a little more preboost fuel.....
thanks schoust, i already changed the filter and adjusted the bands and like i said i'm puttin in the gages and gonna tackle kdp next week. i'm wondering what the tpsn is? i looked around here and can't figure it out. i was thinkin 10 plate already and flowmaster 4" turbo back. it already had a k&n in it so that was cool. basically turning the top of the starwheel towards the engine is what you are saying? just making sure that these mods won't blow the trans out. i need to tow 10000 lbs once in a while and need more power with the od off.
