i want more power out of my truck but i was counting on you guys to help me decide what to get. there are so many boxes and programmers out there and i dont even know where to start. i want somethin safe for more truck and somethin that wont cut down on the engine life or cause other problems with my truck. i have looked at the edge comp and the bullydog power pup. i aint set on these i just need some input. thanks

The two I've had are the Edge Drag Comp and the Smarty. The comp was relatively cheap for the power you get. Downside was that it killed my IP. I also wasn't a huge fan of the way it fueled. On the lower settings it would fuel mildly until it 10 psi, then fueled quite hard. Made it difficult to get through a busy intersection quickly without leaving a cloud. Smarty is much more linear in the fueling I find. You can drive on the smoke threshhold without any surprises. Smarty is rated at roughly half the comp, and costs more. But if I had to do it again, I'd still go with the Smarty.

 

You're gonna want guages before you start adding a box or programmer which makes the edge juice so appealing for many. If you want to set up some mechanical guages then a smarty, edge EZ, or Van Aaken are popular choices.

 

what would be wrong with the mechanical gauges and a comp? are they not as accurate as the attitude???

 

Edge Juice is basically the same as a comp, but has gauges included in it. To buy both a comp and gauges, its gonna cost more than the juice, and you have a couple less features as well. Theres nothing wrong with running seperate gauges and a comp, but there is a cheaper alternative.

 

If i had it to do all over again i would get the Juice w/ Attitude, but it wasn't on the market for your trucks yet. If i would have only waited another 4 months i could have got it. The Juice is cheaper than guages/ Comp.

 

Cost. Mechanical guages are more reliable than electronic and that way all your eggs aren't in one basket and you're not married to your box =P

hey guys for those of you who have the juice w/ attitude, does it come with everything to get readings eg. fuel pressure, boost, egt? ive noticed how expensive even some of that stuff is!!! I think im gonna go ahead and order my juice.....wheres the cheapest place? so for ive found $614
