Boost gauge

Recieved the boost gauge yesterday.. It has looks like a clear 1/8" plastic tube with a " T ", obviously to splice into an existing line.. Where can I find the line to put the T in?? .. I also got the 3 gauge pillar mount with the following gauges.. EGT, Boost, & Trans... Is there a preference in mounting the gauges in the pillar? e.g. boost on top, or Trans, etc. etc?? The EGT gauge I got looks like it goes to 2400, so it makes the numbers rather small..
Thanks in advance

You don't "T" into anything...

Under your intake horn, just towards the front of the motor, there is a bolt on the intake manifold that you remove and plug in there...

So basically:

1. Locate and remove the 1/8" NPT pipe plug on the driver's side of the intake manifold towards the front of the motor.

2. Install a fitting (not included with the gauge) and connect the hose making sure that the hose fits snug but does not pinch.

Thank you very much.. I wonder why they never put that in the instructions?? would make it so much easier.. I would have to purchase a 1/8" fitting for the hose, is that correct?? Also are there any preferences where each gauge goes?? thanks

Ok got the fitting installed after running all over the city trying to find one.. Also had to get a longer tube.. My gauge reads 0 at idle, & about 5 when I rev it up to 2000.. Is this about normal??
I also notice you have a #10 plate not installed.. are you still planning to install it??

You won't see any boost just from revving the engine. You need to take it for a ride. Then you will see boost as the engine is under a load.

I got my #10 plate + 3k gsk installed and when running it hard, it will slip the t/c. The #6 plate will slip the t/c real bad. Also might want to consider an 4" or 5" exhaust, and boost elbow to reduce your egt's once the #6 is installed.

So would a #8 be better, & give less slippage??

I would say if your TC is or has slipped then it is on it's way to the grave. Start looking and saving for a TC & VB upgrade.

Do you have any links to a TC & VB ?? Can I put in a VB, or does a trans shop have to do it?? Would I need a shift kit in conjunction with a VB, or is the shift kit a part of the VB ?
