Air Filter questions

I've been thinking about getting some more lung capacity for the CTD. The Scotty's sound good but, correct me if I'm wrong, you have to cut into the firewall at the passenger side. That's where my dealer installed the Jacob's Brake solenoid/ wiring, etc.. So that pretty much leaves Scotty not an option. Unless I want to relocate the solenoid. Which I prefer not to do.

What about the BHAF? How do you like them? Are the filters easily attainable? Where can I get one and how much? Got a link? Thanks guys. ;D

Re:Air Filter questions

I bought my BHAF at NAPA last week. The # is 2790. It took them a day to get it in. I paid $55CAN (about 42US) buying it through work. Check the tech facts for the part #'s of other brands. There's also a template for a heat sheild in there. I haven't made up the heat shield yet but I'm seeing about 50 degrees cooler at WOT.

I like mine. It cost something like $52 from a truck parts store. Air Flow Systems has it as well.

Re:Air Filter questions

Cutting the "hole" for the scotty is not required. It will perform as well just installed. I noticed a differance after installing mine "no hole cut" but soon gave in to the 4.5 holesaw god's just to hear the turbo wine. And man can you hear it wine! SWEET MUSIC! ;D
Scotty II is a great product, my .02

Re:Air Filter questions

I like my BHAF and made the heat shield for about $5 and I bought the filter from a cummins dealer for $45! Well worth the money!

Hey Buzz. Go to the Peterbuilt truck shop on Union just south of Ming( 150 yards). Ask for Jeff tell him what filter you want. He already knows the part number if you don`t have it with you. I buy my BHAF`s from Jeff.
