What Kind Of Air Filter Do You Run - Air Filter Poll

I have read alot of threads on air filtration and cold air intakes. Im curious what everyone actually runs and their experiences (good and bad).

Please list your current intake and tell about your experience (good or bad) if it is aftermarket

My S & B CAI has worked real well, fits good, easy install, and I can hear the turbo sing its melody that I love to hear. No problems, except on one towing trip I think I had some turbo cavitation, but not sure what it was attributed to and only happened once.

I currently have an oiled AFE, but I'll be switching over to an AEM dry filter shortly.

Stock Amsoil with baffle and silencer ring removed. Sounds good and dealer doesn't complain.

I have the Banks, but thinking of switching to an AEM. No problems with the Banks, would just rather have an open air filter instead of an enclosed box.

Oiled Filter

I also use the Scotty 5 intake with the dual layer (oiled) UNI foam filter. Hey Scotty, I was curious if you knew of a comparable dry filter that would work with the Scotty 5. Thanks.

AFE

Had done me good so far. Spent a few months in Midland/Odessa Tx in some of the dustiest conditions I have ever seen. Was cleaning it weekly and it was filty, but the intake tube was squeaky clean.

It did its job as far as Im concerned.

Negative. I tried to get aFe to do it but that hit a wall when they saw me as a competitor to their intakes. Thats the exact words of a former sales rep from there.

AEM Brute Force on my '06 .... works like a champ and I've noticed there is a slight increase in mileage and power.

Gutted air intake tube, 4" hole cut in the bottom of the stock air box and an aFe or K&N drop in filter. It's been good for 1 to 1.5 MPG. Cost $60 CDN.
