35"s with aftermarket wheels

I currently have Mickey Thompson Classic II's with Dick Cepek FC II's in 285/75/16. (Excellent tire by the way, just expensive) When my wheels are at full lock there is about 1 to 1-1/2 inches from the outside edge of the tire to the fender liner. I would like to put 35"s on but I don't know if they'll fit. I have a 2" leveling kit but stock control arms. I know that the best thing would be to buy aftermarket control arms to push my axle forward, but why buy them if the 35"s will fit without. So does anyone have the same setup or know if they will fit without the control arms?

Thanks

Control arms or not, they won't fit without rubbing. At full lock, when the suspension compresses they'll hit the inner fender well.

My tires are only 1" closer to the fender that a 35 would be (1" larger radius) an I rub at full lock/compression. My axle is about 1.5" forward of stock, and I have 6" of lift.

I'd recommend at least 3" better yet 4" of lift to clear 35's.

Seabee, the d25 coils add 2.5" correct? Do you have stock control arms??

I have the 2" coil spacers and I'm running 315's on an 8" rim with 5" of backspacing and I don't have any problems with them.

A 285/75 is roughly a 33" tire....if you add 1" to the radius and you have 1-1.5" of clearance, that leaves you with 1/2" or less of clearance.....it'll rub.

What a 285 calculates out to be and what it actually is are too totally different things. Each manufacturer is different but most of the 285's I have seen have usually measured about 31.5" tall not 33" like it's supposed to be. Most off the shelf tires run short, there are exceptions such as Interco tires but the vast majority of tires will run short when installed.
