Question 12 v injectors for towing

I was wondering about good injectors for my 97 for towing.I tow a enclosed racecar trailer and gooseneck cattle trailer.I dont tow every week but fairly often.I was wondering about this because my truck has 259,000 miles and dont know how long the stock injectors are supposed to last? My truck is running great after the bombs(3 k kit is great ,need to update sig) .What are signs of worn injectors?
I dont want to kill the clutch just help the towing.

Thanks Randy

Add some gauges, install either 300HP or 330HP Bosch Injectors, and you will have a nice towing power with the stock turbo.

You would probably know if you had a problem with your injectors. More white smoke and not running as smooth. With high miles you might eventually get some wear around where the needle seats and you will bleed off pressure. Truck will still run though as it should unless they get to the point where they wont pop-off or "bleed off" I'm sure someone could step in and explain it a little better. Also you could get just the bosch nozzles and have a pump shop replace your stock tips and pop test them for instead of buying new set, but new sets are fairly inexpensive.

Kyle, like I said I need to update the sig ,the pyro and boost gages were the first mod I made. I was thinking the 300 or 330 my self but wanted a more educated opinion. In saying Bosch you are saying Bosch brand and not after market right? I noticed a lot of 370s on the board but I was afraid of the milage since I drive 120 mile round trip to work.
Thanks Randy

Yes i mean Bosch brand, I wouldn't recommend the 370's a lot of white smoke on start up as they have a little bit different spray angle than the 300 or 330's. I carry all 3 sizes.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm not so gung ho on the plate. The truck will weigh about 7500 to 8000 pounds all the time, and will be used to tow whenever the need arrises. It is my work truck and daily driver. I have taken the advice of Mark & Scott at TST and decided to go with either a #6 or #5, both without a 3GSK.

About how much HP would the 300 injectors combined with a # 6 or #5 (without 3GSK) provide? This is in a '97 auto with 180 pump.

Thanks.

The #6 plate alone will be about as much as your torque converter will handle. With injectors as well, you'll be rebuilding transmission in short order. I'd recommend a #10 plate. A 10 gives a very smooth power band. You can adjust the the gov lever so your power comes on at about 1800RPM when you've built up some line pressure in the trans.

Any kind of injector upgrade will probably put you over the edge. The 215's I installed did my trans in.
