Well I removed my torque plate last night and I got to looking inside the pump and it apperd oily, it was black and felt like oil, but of course it smelt like diesel fuel. What would be causing this and what should I do about. This is the first time I have ever been inside a p-pump. Thanks

the pump is lubricated by engine oil. if you look between the pump and the motor you will see the oil feed line. don't do anything about it, it is fine. mike
