*yaaAAAAAAawn* Things are finally gettin' back to 'normal'. I even had time to check in at the cooler this AM, first time in about a month! The coffee pot needed a good scrubbin', so I got that done too!

I see on the news this AM that a terror plot was foiled in England... are we gettin' better at detecting such things or are the terrorists just gettin' dumber? I'm hoping it's the first reason!

Redleg, if you're gonna be makin' home made stew, you could send some down here!

Coffee? I need ice tea! Heat index was 111 in Lincoln yesterday. To say the humidity was brutal was an understatement of the year! HOT HOT HOT!

My middle son called me at work today and sent me into a panic attack. "Dad, Vanna is outside and she has a broken leg ... looks real bad and mom's not here ... what do I do ?"

Vanna is short for Savanna .... my daughters name (also the name of the stupid dog my eldest son brought home and named after his little sister).
I naturally assumed the worst and thought that we were talking about my daughter ... so I am running down the mental medical contingency list in my head when after a minute or two of over the phone triage ... he informs me that "the other three legs look ok, but that one is sure stuck out to the side something terrible !!".
Once we clarified who we were working on ... my breathing and heart rate resumed normal operation. Word to the wise ... NEVER let your kids name their pets after a family member !!

Haven't heard the status of the dog yet ....

Looks kinda gloomy here in NC, 80% chance of rain today but it is cooler. The river behind our RV is up a couple of feet, someone up stream must have caught a lot of rain.

Looks like I’m off and running again next Tuesday. Dad isn’t feeling to well so he wants me to pick him up in Arkansas and take him to the family reunion.

Pistol; Glad it wasn’t your daughters leg! I think I would be renaming the dog, might save you from getting a few more gray hairs in the future.

Shovelhead; A son-in-law like Mr. Douglas is much better than one like Zeb.

Looks like west bound for about 1000 miles, hang a left and keep going till you run out of road/country then back up a bit and hide.
