I'll take a hit off of that Shovelhead.

I'll take some of your vacation time off your hands PJ.

Wife say's I'm only allowed to be on vacation when SHE is (she has a "real" job, with 40 +/- days off a year) I'm self employed, I take mini vacations all diferent times of the year. This is one is with the family and should be a great time.

Enjoy the time off PJ.

I'm scheduled for a week off on the Labor Day weekend.
Then I'll only have 3 more weeks to use before the end of the year.

Hit the ground running at 0600.

Time for a coffee break.

Still humid.....temps still too warm for my tastes.

Lots to do,
Meeting with Co-Worker in about a 1/2 hour for a refresher in "Work Ethics", & "Attitude Adjustment".

Y'all stay cool & B safe,

Rob,
Not sure when but planning around the first of September. Was supposed to go down to the Austin area this week but too many gators and fire to deal with here.
Just knocking out one thing at a time.

Hey Gang,

I need a tee shirt that says I got the crap beat out of me by the Nolichucky River”. The river was to low for everyone to use the big rafts so they put most of us in “ThrillKats”. Mr. Flash and I refer to them as the “Vessels from Hell’. If you don’t know what a ThrillKat is look at this.

I made it through the first class 4 with no problem, after that it was not pretty. The next class 4 was a four-foot drop, no big deal if you hit it square, which I did. However, the nose of the “vessel” caught in the hydraulics at the bottom of the drop. The water coming off the top of the drop hit the back of the “vessel” catapulting me into the river among rocks as big as our trucks. The “vessel” folded in half and stuck there while I did this

and the rocks did this

One of the guides threw me a rope, luckily I caught it and he pulled me to shore. There were more spills and thrills after that but I won't go into the ugly details. By the half way mark I had bruises, scrapes, and contusions in places I had forgot I had places. My arms felt like two pieces of over cooked spaghetti and I looked like the poster girl for a battered woman’s shelter. My poor little “vessel” had developed a leak so we deflated it and I rode the rest of the trip in one of the big rafts with one of the guides. It’s all good though cause I made it through all the class 4’s and 3’s without killing myself and had a blast!

I’ll post some pic’s when we get them developed.

Must go heal now, y’all have a great day!

River Rat Flash

Humidity is gone (for the time being, anyway) and has taken about 15 degrees of the heat along with it.

Coffee tastin' mighty good this morning.

Still much to do on the STD list here at work.
Home list is getting shorter though.

Local fuel station jumped their diesel prices by 5 cents overnight.
Unleaded prices unchanged.

Y'all b safe,

That's cool Flash. Glad you survived
I kept thinking of the quote: "That which does not kill us only makes us stronger" while I was reading your post.

Is it good when the professional exterminator you hire to take care of ants at your house says "Wow, I've never seen a concentration of them like this"?
Oh well, as long as they stay outside.

Looks like I'll need to talk to Mrs. Shovelhead about the "home to do list" getting shorter

is on

Actually, after that adventure it reads, "That which does not kill us only leaves us bruised and bleeding". However, it did make me smarter. I will never set my butt in one of those Thrillkillers again.

Mr. Flash is gone to Alabama for a few days for classes so it’s non-stop shopping for me! Life is good!

Y’all have a good one!

Hey Pistol...,
For all those bites, put a little clorox in bath water and set in there a few minutes, all the itching will be gone.

D2 .... 'preciate it !!!! I'm about all scratched out for this lifetime.

Well ... gonna hit the hay early tonight ... got some pretty important muckety-mucks coming for a visit and I'm sure there will be some last minute miracles to work before they arrive. That's ok .... I was getting low on rum anyway .

Cheers,
PISTOL
