It's not, actually. They opened me up pretty good this time, but less damage.

Nah, they're overrated. What's the use living like a man if you're not going to die like one?

The other day, before my surgery, they were asking me when the last time I ate was. (can't have anything after midnight) I told them I had a huge steak about 9 the night before, because if I'm gonna die, there is gonna be red meat in my colon when I go!

They didn't think it was as funny as I did.

hey madson, Happy Thanksgiving! don't go eating yellow snow, no matter what they tell you it is......

had a post earlier that must have slid off into the ditch.......gone.

Top! Clint, button down the fort, wind and snow rolling in.....

took some pictures of trucks from 1900s...have to work on prying them off my cell phone. passed on the skidder, just too many costly little things despite some simple fixes. wanted it, just made a grown up decision today.

Bark, you made me jealous. I having venison backstraps slow cooked with onions, garlic and a touch of Worchester sauce.....just to get back at ya!

Fronty, good to hear from you again.

Headed home tomorrow, finally. Scott, shoot another video once you get the feel for the controls. I'd like to see how much speed you can muster.

Got cows moved out to stalks today. Have to put up about 3 miles of fence tomorrow for another group. Place is owned by some guys out of Denver for a hunting property and we have to keep the cattle out of his "habitat". Which at the moment is nothing but a bunch of weeds and cheatgrass. The tumbleweeds are so bad that the hi-tensile fence is a solid wall of them. On the north side where the "habitat" is and the south side, 3/8 mile away.

Have to cut the holes in my door and get the window motor in tomorrow. Glass shop is putting the window in Wednesday afternoon. They beat Safelite by $70 and 50 miles.

My ribs hurt from all the sneezing and coughing the last couple days. Gonna take a fake psuedafed and go to bed. Slept pretty well last night after I took one.

I used my last knee surgery as a reason to drink beer, eat and not exercise. I have never gotten rid of that weight.

Don't know why but venison really likes W-sauce. I like to marinade in it for awhile before wrapping in bacon and BBQing it.
Dang. I'm getting hungry again.

I will. I'm getting more used to it now too. The conveyor is too narrow and the large wood clogs it up. If it weren't for that I'd be hitting my target goal of 5 cords an hour.

Never got rid of the ugly either.

Madman, I hate to burst your bubble but there is nothing regular about those of us who hang around the breakroom.

To all of our Merkin friends, have safe travels as you head to wherever you are going for Thanksgiving.

Time to get some work done, the boss doesn't pay me (at least he thinks he doesn't) to skulk around on DTR all day.

Well played, Sir. Well played.

Mornin. Another day chained to the couch with ice on the elbow. Still thankful, it could be much worse.

Mornin. My enthusiasm meter has swinging to the - side of zero. Another day, a new disappointment. Our new and improved medical benefits policy just came out.

Mad Hat only a marine would want to do pull ups with an arm that looks like that. Maybe that's why the other branches know your crazy.

Hope it heals up fast.

There's a lot of truth to that. I'll go so far as to say it is the last vestage of what I would call real "military discipline".

Over the years I've been on the planes (c-141, kc-10) that have transported a lot of troops and have watched the slow transition of what I'll call the new breed of Army where it's a lot more PC, warm and fuzzy. The troops get away with a lot more. I see a lot of poor weapon discipline (carrying them around) not paying attention to where the muzzle is pointed. I shook my head once while we were loading some Humvees up. A couple of Army E-3's were goofing off. The sarge came over and chewed them a new one. Then the butter bar came over and got on sarge telling him he was too hard on them. Of course I just picked on the Army but Air Force is worse... Navy about the same from my vantage point.

I've never had that experience with Marines...

Heal Up fast Madhat, I've got a bunch of pushups/pullups to knock out and I'd feel a lot better knowing you took care of those for me...
