Started Painting the Truck (Pics)

I started the long long tons tons of work process of repainting the truck. The reason for taking the one side down to bare metal was pitting in the paint from concrete. I am using aircraft stripper on the silver two-tone part because there are a bunch of rock chips, which would show through if I did not completlely remove them. I was sanding above the wheel well and notice odd colored rust when I got to bare metal, so I took a putty knife and ended up poking through it. It is very thing due to packed mud causing rust. So I am going to cut that out, and weld in some new metal and fill it in. I am dreding a new door skin on the passenger side door. Is cut and reweld all I can do for the area beneath the door? Comments and suggestions wanted!!!

So true....now then, how much will you charge me to do the body work and repaint my truck next? I just wish that I had the skills to do that sort of work!

I don't think I would do it...but then again, I'll do next to anything for the right ammount of $$$ I now fully see what user Crimedog was saying when he said "alot of work" I am glad that in the end, I will have the satisfaction of knowing that I did it all myself. Ah, another MALE PRIDE matter...

I have pride in doing everything to my truck on my own....but when it comes to body work and paint the before pic would most likely be better than the after

I hateee HATE having others work on my truck, hense why I do it all. The last time I had something done, or really one of the only, was front end alignment. I stressed and stressed the entire day that they were going to take the wheels off and pull my brand new hub assemblies apart. Thats a stress I don't need...

OK boys, let's get this one back on the rails. This ain't OldTractorResource.com.

Matt, the last photo was tasteless and unnecessary. The admin team at DTR would never have allowed you to upload that into your gallery. And now you understand why.

As are comment such as that? A simple inappropriate would have been more appropriate than telling your views on my picture as an admin moderating my post...

I was explaining why it was removed so it wouldn't get reposted - and so other the other tractor partisans wouldn't add their own pics to the thread that was supposed to be about you repainting your truck. Now is this thread going back to talking about you repainting your truck or am I locking it?

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy some body parts such as rocker panels, cab corners, etc?
