Painting my truck with pics

I am finally getting started painting my truck. This is the replacement door & I figured that I would get the jamb painted to save down time when I pull the truck into the shop. The color is Sunset Orange metallic.

If you guys are interested, I will post pics as I go.

No rattle cans. That is self etching primer which I used to touch up the bare metal spots in the jamb. I'm using epoxy primer on the body.

I need a little help. Between the front & rear glass [driver front door & rear door] there is a black decal on the pillar of the front door. Anyone know where I can purchase these decals? I also need the sticky seals which go here & there along the inside of the door. Any help?

I don't want no raw edges on my paint, that leads to chips.

Sand care fully around the decal, tape off, finish by using a razor blade if necessary. I guarantee you will have no problems.
Did it on my Porsche !!

The decal is already stripped off. I did it before I painted the doorjamb. Thanks

I think that color is going to make for a real good looking truck (MAKE SURE WE SEE SOME PICTURES OF IT DONE ) i have often thought about doing one in ph2 the candy apple red that was on for example a 2000 grand caravan.
Instead of using the decal why don't you just tape it off and shoot it with black before you clear coat it = no paint/tape edges and no worry's about the decal should look so close to OEM most people would never know the difference.

Thanks. I don't have black, decal would be cheaper.

ahhh, who needs decals. The hacks that did the bodywork on my truck did the inner door jams on the driver side and thought it looked better without all that vital information....so it has none.

That's a great color you got. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole truck.

They list the decals from Dodge the same for Ext. and Quad cabs, below are the part numbers and wholesale prices.

55077366AA Right side $29.94
55274889AC Left side $17.12

By the way, if you do a Google search on "Kowalski parts", you will find a site where Chryco demanded be taken down, the nice feller complied and left the page up as a legacy.

If you happen to click on the 99 Ram parts link, who knows what might happen?

Hope that helps.
