Yeah, I only had 2 choices on the cell phone. I had to get internet, with "push to talk" & the other choice sucked.

Are planning on doing anything custom for the interior or just putting that stock interior you bought?

I can't wait either, but I'm not gonna rush it to get done. I'm heading out to prime the hood. I've been blocking it for 6 hours, it was really wavy & took alot of blocking to smooth it out. I hate fiberglass hoods.

I work this truck hard, not worth the time, it would just get dirty.

GM & Chrysler both used this color in 07. It is called Sunset orange metallic.

Got the hood primed today. The hood was really wavy & it took alot of blocking to make it straight. I had a couple of spots where pits showed up & had to fill them back in with urethane primer. Its been a rough day, but should be worth it.

Here are a few more. The spots in the hood which look like swirls from a buffer are actually a reflections from the plastic I stapled to the ceiling. Lots of shine to the clear.

I got started on the truck today. I blocked the roof with 180 grit & I was surprised to see that most of the hail dents blocked out without mud. I coated the entire roof with Poly & sanded most of it back off. The truck is officially off the road until it is completed. Atleast I've got another truck to drive.

Keep the pictures coming
One thought are you going to panel paint the entire truck ??
My concern is you may end up with a finished truck with some mismatch in the paint and at that point you would have to blend panels and then re shoot the clear.
If you are panel painting it make very sure your paint mix, number of coats, and gun pressures are identical even then it could still vary. The metallic's can give you some trouble like this.
Are you having any problems with dust/dirt specs in your clear coat it seems to draw it like a magnet but can be corrected without too much trouble?

No, I'm painting the cab/front clip together, then the bed seperate. My garage isn't big enough to shoot the truck complete. I'm painting the roof when I do the jambs only because I don't have alot of ceiling height & I don't want to be shooting the roof & blow dust onto the fenders/doors etc.

Just curious, but are you leaving the engine compartment the stock color. If not, how are you going to tackle that?
