Wow, been awhile since I've been on the 2nd gen side but things are looking good! I thought your truck was a long bed, why does your wheel base seem so short? Maybe I'm just seeing things. Truck gonna be ready for the pulls in a few months? You're running out of winter!

It is a 8ft box. The frame looks short because I have no bumper etc. Its a mind game. I'll be ready for the pulls for sure. My deadline is April 25th, because I want to take it to the Diesel Dawg drags & truck show. I set that deadline long ago. If I get this door in primer tomorrow, I'll be ready to spray on the first nice day. Then I'll be buffing, installing hood & interior. Only step after that is the bed, that won't take long.

Thanks. I'll keep them coming. 5 headgaskets in a year!!!! You need some studs. Better check the head & block with a straight edge. WOW!!!

I run ARP 625's and have an oring head. I'm currently pushing around 80+psi of boost when I running twins. I'm gonna paint the truck next year, but I have to take some more of the new out of the truck first.

I'll build a sweet 12v motor when I want to make this truck new again, until then I'm be beating the life out of it.

I'm also on my third built tranny and my third head. I will be putting in fire rings in next.

625's should hold 80psi no problem. What protrusion you running?

protrusion is 0.08 thou. I'm taking out the orings to see if they where cut right. Might try different wire size. Someone has to push the headgasket boundry. I want to use some NOS.

Nan, I'm doing this myself. I've listen to, to many experts already. I want to work this out on my own. I ran a oring stage 2 PDR head prior to this head. I think that they put the oring in the wrong spot in the head. I want to put to put more load into the middle of the head gasket, not on the edge of the metal insert. The block will be decked, and I will see if I can salvage the current head. How many people daily drive a 80psi truck and actually use all of the power? Its kinda self-induced head gasket issues. I like to see whats the breaking point and then push thru it. My next gasket will be a copper gasket.

I am installing leather interior, painting valvecover, air horn & other stuff under the hood. Other than that, I painted the frame, sold my chrome & I'm doing a sport conversion. I spent $2000 in performance goodies too. I bought the Redline, Mach 5's, & upgraded from 62/71/14 to 64/71/14 turbo. I think I'm gonna call it done until mid summer....then maybe get some new wheels & stuff.

Nice stuff buddy. Its gonna be a new ride again that you can actually still use. I had mine truck all juiced up for awhile. I'm gonna try the near stock for awhile. New wheels always is a nice bling on a freshly painted truck. You gonna put on new trim and glass? Its the small details that just finish the ride off nice. I will doing that with mine but first I have to put a few more dents into it first.

Dumb question for ya, is the rear frame boxed on your truck? I saw the earlier truck wasn't, and I'm sure that mine, the frame is boxed from front to back. Anyways, I could be sniffing too much diesel fumes lately.
